Great Mop For Parrots & Their People!
I just got this mop this week. Normally, I wait a longer time to write a review, but given that I have already used it so much, I’m going to assume my happiness with it will continue. Parrot owners, this is the mop/vac for you! Anyone who has parrots will recognize the cleaning needs here: Our little feathered friends throw down & 1/2 of everything you feed them from chunky dry pellets to bits of fresh vegetables to fruit juices. They need to chew wood to keep their beaks trim, so tiny bits of wooden bird toys are also part of everyday life. Finally, there is the down and dust birds shed. Ants are a follow-on problem if you don’t clean and mop the floor 2-3+ times/day. I also prefer to walk barefoot, so I am VERY aware of how much stuff is on my floor. To be able to combine wet mopping with vacuuming easily saves me @ 20 minutes of work per day...but only if the wet/dry mop is up to snuff. Hizero is the only one that’s up to my needs. PROS: (1) This mop has serious vac power. Chunky stuff disappears on the first pass. This is where it beats the Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro (the next best machine out there) hands down. Bissell just doesn’t pick up the big chunks as easily as Hizero. (Bissell may or may not have Hizero beat for hair; I don’t know because that’s not a problem with birds. After @12 uses, I have not seen any hair trapped on the roller brush, though. (2) This mop is extremely capable when it comes to sticky messes. Yes, you do have to go 2-4 swipes for the dried-on gunk, but I would have to do the same thing with a regular mop, so it does not trouble me. For liquid mess, the mop + vac combo will make it disappear on the first pass. It’s shocking to see the dirty water tank and the dried mess tray...the Hizero is picking up so much more than my mop + vacuum alone. (3) You will not believe how quiet the Hizero is compared to EVERY mop/vac or stick/canister vacuum out there. Birds scare easily with sound, so I was prepared for a long “assuring them all was well” break-in period. My birds had acclimated to other louder vacuums, to be fair, but every new type of sound still usually is a “scream and climb away for safety” ordeal. With the Hizero...nothing but polite interest. My African Grey (normally the most skittish of my birds) actually climbed down to a lower branch to observe me mopping. Neither bird even peeped on first use. This is the Zen Master of mop/vacs! (4) Green Factor: I, like others, am having a hard time finding the Hizero cleaning solution. None comes with the machine. On reflection, I almost suspect that is on purpose, given how many replacement parts Hizero makes available on-line. You should try cleaning with warm water...just like the instructions say to do. I would NEVER have believed that water alone would tackle my messes, but having seen how it works, I doubt that I will EVER need to buy cleaning solution. It’s a green solution for people, and a particularly nice surprise for bird use — owners know how sensitive to smells, fumes, and chemicals birds are, so to have something work better than stick-mopping with chemicals is a win/win. (5) Light weight. The Hizero is not feather-weight, but it is lighter than my stick vacuum, and WAY lighter than any competitor mop/vac combo I know of. (6) Ease of clean-up: Emptying the water tank and dry debris tray is laughably easy. The Hizero has a self-clean function for the soft roller. Just tip it backwards a little (I lean it against a table or counter) and hit the vacuum power on button with some water in the clean water tank. This is a walk-away function! I just do other chores for a few minutes while it does its thing. (7) Low water use (kind of a green thing, too). Hizero mop uses very little water for the amount of floor it cleans, and it does such an efficient job of sucking it right back up into the dirty tank that my floor is completely dry in @ 1-2 minutes, even if I select the “heavy water” function. If I am cleaning just the immediate area the birds mess up (8’ x 14’), I don’t even use 1/2 of a tank of water. (8) Self-propulsion. This was a surprise. Yes, this mop almost pulls itself along the floor at a slow pace going forward. Like everyone, I wanted to get through cleaning with fast motions, but here’s what I’ve learned — you actually spend less time overall and it takes less effort if you go at the mop’s pace. You can do it fast (like a vigorous mopping with a stick mop), but why bother? Let it do the work for you — push out to vacuum and pull it back across the same line to pick up the water. Do it again if you have sticky/dry mess. Move on with your life. (9) It looks sleek/cool, and its form contributes to its function. Hizero mop’s head height and maneuverability make it easy to get under chairs and cages without having to move them. This is particularly nice for a “quick clean.” (10) Ease of assembly. I’m an instruction-reader by nature, but I really didn’t need to. Do yourself a favor — watch a YouTube video on assembly; there are a few out there. (Particularly note 2 things: a) start with putting the sponge head in water so it gets its 10 minutes of soaking while you work, and b) there’s 1 wire connection that has to be done in the handle before you click it onto the main body). It all makes sense when you see it and you probably won’t have to crack the instruction book to assemble. (11) Long battery life. The claim is 60 minutes. I really haven’t timed it, but I’ve only had to recharge the battery once this week (and I did clean a lot of other floors than just the bird area), so I’d guess that I got somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour out of it. CONS (really CON-lites for me): (1) Docking station is finicky. Hizero, please improve this! I do usually have to physically hold the head with my hands to get this mop docked properly. I appreciate the almost zero overhang of the docking station footprint, but I’d sacrifice another inch if Hizero made it just a bit easier to dock for recharge. (2) I don’t care about this, one but some will: If you don’t use this mop frequently enough, the sponge roller will dry out and you’ll have to re-soak it for the mop to work. I will never know unless I go on vacation, I guess, but if you are thinking about once a week use, this may be an issue for you. (3) The more uneven your hard floor surface is, the more you’ll have to re-trace your strokes. One pass will do it on my hardwood and marble, but it takes me 3 passes on my very textured slate floor. (4) $499 price tag. Yeah. Ouch. BUT compared to the Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro at @ the upper $300-range, $100 more for a machine that is so superior in features that I need, I think it’s an acceptable trade-off. (5) Hizero mop doesn’t do area rugs. This is a hard floor-only cleaner. Bissell has the ability to do floors and area rugs, so it wins on this point. I don’t mind, but some may. Video: I’ve attached a video just to show some of the points I make above. Please don’t trash me on the video quality. It is probably the 5th video I’ve ever made in my life, but I hope it helps!

Ugh
Update 2 weeks later 2nd time I tried to use it and now it doesn't suck any water up - it all goes into the supposedly "solid" dirt tray Hizero doesn't respond via web site or email So disappointed, I thought this was going to be a life changer What if you HATE cleaning but are also a clean freak? Then get the Hizero. I just got it and will update for longevity and reliability but this is a big Oh My God Yes. Is it pricy? Yes it is. Would I buy it again? Yes I would. I can come home after a long day in the mines, and get the whole place looking really good in no time and with no real effort. Everyone I know is getting this for a present this year. Briefly This is for hard surfaces only - it doesn't work on rugs or carpets. Can't do stairs It is amazingly light. Super quiet. Like quiet enough so that you think it might not be cleaning, but it is. Cordless and keeps a charge for the advertised 60+ minutes Really nice look and solid build and good design features. Fantastically easy and simple clean up. Does not come with cleaning solution - not sure yet what works - HAVE to use something non-sudsing. DOES get into small spaces and under furniture better than anything else I have ever tried except the Shark Ion flex Is this a beast of a deep cleaner and will it make your grout like new? No. Battery is removable - so in theory if the battery dies, you don't have to replace the whole unit. In depth I do a minor clean frequently and a good clean, well, let's just say less frequently. You do NOT have to vacuum first. I had some potting soil from a knocked over plant and mess from cooking on the kitchen floor and it picked all that up no problem. I also purposely spilled 300 ml of water on the same floor and it picked that up also. Did a great job on all the hard wood and bathroom tile without a vacuum or swiffer first. I could get under the bed - also without vacuum or swiffer first. Did my whole small apartment (800 sq feet) in like 30 min. 2 min to clean and empty the machine. The same time it would take to either vacuum OR mop. This has some quirks Wet wash is only forward and dry/suck up is only back. So this can be a bit awkward in really tight spaces and if you are fanatic about streaks or have floors that HAVE to be dry. You HAVE to pick this up and carry it with the brush unit flat and locked - if it is loose and pointing down the dirt cup will leak. Just don't do that - it is easy enough. The wet and dry cleaning cups are a bit small. You do have to empty them a little more frequently than with some other machines. However, this is not onerous, The machine flashes red and stops to tell you to do that. There are no solids in the dirty water cup (these are separated into the solid dirt tray) so you don't have to worry about clogging the sink and can pour it down any drain. Once downstairs and once upstairs, took 30 seconds and didn't bother me at all. Also probably my fault because my cleaner was too sudsy. Set up instructions are very clear and easy I don't know HOW this does it, but all the solid dust bunnies, dirt, some cellophane wrapping, bits of spinach and various other bits and pieces were in the dirt tray. Only the soluble stuff was in the dirty water cup. I had actually just cleaned with the Crosswave the day before but it still got a LOT of dirt. Barefoot on the floors after was literally squeaky clean with no residue. When you go under furniture (this is GREAT for that - so low profile) you have to make sure that the cleaning head is in contact with the floor, not lifted up. So to do my king bed I had to do it from one side and then the other in order to keep the unit flat. But was awesome! Haven't done under the bed with more than a Swiffer in I don't know how long and it is super clean now. It doesn't really do edges, but pretty close. Take home message. This is literally a life changer if you have hard floors. Comparison to Bissel Crosswave, Hoover Floormate, and Rug Doctor Floor Doctor Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner The Crosswave is a little better for deep cleaning, can do carpets (in theory) and gets into the grout and very textured surfaces a bit better. Still doesn't do edges or stairs. Also on my 3rd unit in 2 years because things keep breaking and this is a much messier cleanup, heavy and corded. I will probably still lug this out once in a while, but I suspect I will sit in the closet most of the time. The Crosswave is LOUD. There is no "lugging" with the Hizero and it is whisper quiet. Crosswave can not get under any furniture or the bed. The Hoover floormate is just a beast. Way too heavy, does not get under anything, really messy cleanup - this one I just returned. Also LOUD. The Cordless Rug doctor is really just an electronic mop. It does suck up water, but not really anything else (not a dead spider or tiny piece of toilet paper). Hizero is still lighter weight. Also , first Floor doctor didn't work new right out of the box. Returned this also even after I finally got a working unit. Much cheaper, but have to vacuum first. Does get under furniture and is cheaper, but doesn't clean well. Is it worth almost 500$? Yes. It replaces my cordless vacuum almost entirely (Shark Ion Flex) except for the crevice and dusting attachments. It replaces my corded Shark Rocket (except for the fans). The mops and buckets are going in the trash. The swiffer will never see anything but the stairs. The Crosswave will come out of storage like once a year when my MIL comes.

By far the best hard floors cleaning product
Hizero delivers what it promises!! I have been using for about month and living it. I am surprised why this product is not popular in US, probably marketing?? Very few people know about it. I was struggling to find the right product for cleaning hard floors. Vaccum technology is really designed for carpets. Hard floors have different challenges, you have to clean them using some form of liquid to truly clean them. As house hold has moved off of carpets in last 15-20 years, need for product to serve that need is more evident now then before, I can foresee many products(high end consumer cleaning product specifically for hard floors, right now Hizero is the best one by far... PROS: 1. Separation of solid and liquid waste is one of their best feature and works really well, I have see fine dust, hairs, mix of solid and liquid, it picks up everything well 2. Battery life, since it does not require lot of power, it is really good with battery, I have 3000 sq ft at main level, plus 5 bathrooms, everything is done under 60 minutes, never lost battery!! 3. Very quite, means you can clean at anytime without disturbing rest of the house. 4. Fast, one of best feature is speed and effort, it requires very little effort and does three things in one go( Vaccum, mop, dry). You are done with whole house in under hour and it dries much faster than mop. Mop takes 30-45 minutes, this takes 5 minutes or so for some left over, most less than a minute. 5. Cleaning after cleaning cycle is as much as bagless vaccum. So you end up using lot more, plus it is cordless, that makes its lot more user friendly and my #1 choice for hard floors. Cons: 1. Price may through some people off, but for me it’s worth it, high end vaccums are $600+ and Hizero is way better than vaccum for hard floor. With vaccum, you have to mop it to really clean it. 2. Corners and edges. This probably is only issue, but not a big deal, I can imagine it’s hard to do for water base cleaning product. You have to comprise a lot on main features to design product for such needs. I don’t see this as an issue, core features of product are well thought through. All in all, I would strongly recommend to anybody who has 60/70% Hardfloor, their is nothing better than that!!

Expensive, amazing but has one drawback
After using this for a week I think I’m able to give a review. I’ve had a dyson for years. But needed more help cleaning my floors. I bought this and a roborock at the same time and decided to see which one will be more useful and return the other. I ended up keeping both. Because they are useful in different ways. The Roborock is great for a lot of floor space that is mostly dusty not dirty from food. The hizero is exactly the opposite, good for relatively small spaces but could be super dirty. (I.e kitchen, dining room, entrance, etc) Cons: The only drawback and it’s a big one for me is that it doesn’t clean in the grout between the tiles. If you have marble floor or marble installed floors then it would be PERFECT for you. For example if my kid spilled yogurt and it’s also on the grout the hizero will only clean the floor but not inside the grout. Other than that, the pros: *Long battery life **So easy to use!!!! That my 2 yo toddler can do the water containers. For real. It’s awesome. I wouldn’t be using it if I had to clean brushes and pads every time I want to clean.thats a HUGE pro. Tips/other It cleans edges well if you use the side of it and not the front. I don’t mind refilling and emptying it every time in the middle. It runs out pretty quickly but it’s so easy to do that I really don’t mind. To me the combination of dyson, Roborock and this is amazing. I have super clean floors and I have a big house. It’s so easy to use so I don’t wait until I feel like cleaning. Hizero if you’re reading this maybe make a foam roll that has a brush attached. It would make it 1000% perfect!!!

Good and Bad
The Hizero sweeps/vacuums when moving forward and mops when moving backward. It's very light weight, is easy to maneuver and works well. It really does pick up debris from the floor and does a fine job of mopping. It struggles some over grouted areas. It does well against baseboards, but not so well in corners. An attachment tool would have solved this. Another downside is that there's no way to turn the mop function off, so every time you sweep you also have to mop. It also means you can't clean any areas with carpet, so don't get this machine thinking you'll be able to use it to clean your carpeted stairs. During cleaning, the clean water tank has to be refilled every ten minutes or so and the dirty water tank has to be emptied about every fifteen minutes. This may bother some people. The Hizero does a fabulous job of picking up pet hair, but the pet hair causes the machine to get clogged very frequently, which results in dirty water coming out onto the floor as you mop. To solve this issue you have to: take out both water tanks, remove the cleaning roller, empty out the trash tray, untangle pet hair from the roller brush and from around any mechanisms that turn during use, remove and clean the grate, clean the tiny filter, reassemble the machine. I used a shop vac to suck up most of the pet hair yesterday before cleaning house; and I still had to go through this process every thirty minutes. The Hizero has great battery life. I can clean all 2000 sq ft of hard surface floors in my home and never run out of juice. I also love the self-cleaning function. I would love it more if I could add detergent or soap of some sort to the water. But you can only use Hizero Cleaning Solution, which for some reason is sold out everywhere. I also haven't been able to find additional filters and only two extras come with the machine. So, the short version is that I LIKE the Hizero when it's actually working. But I don't LOVE it, because it's such a pain to constantly have to clean out pet hair.

Great technology behind this product
The design of this vacuum is incredible. So easy to use, no more messy mops to clean. Cleaning the Hizero is a breeze. Like the fact that solids and liquids are separated for easy disposal. You do need to understand that the machine needs to be cleaned up regularly as any hair will affect the mopping function. If hair gets wet you will see streaks. I rather clean the machine regularly than dealing with a bucket and dirty mop. The Hizero uses minimal water just enough to clean and dry quickly. Keep is away from rugs or cords as it will tangle,

20% of time cleaning the floor, 80% cleaning the machine and wiping dry floor.
I want to believe in this machine, and have tried hard to understand how it work but almost gave up now. Today, after not using it for over 1 month, I thought the roller must be too dry. So I started a self cleaning cycle while having it on the stand. When I came back a few minutes later, my floor in my laundry room was all wet. The Hizero just decided to leak all the water. Well, I dried the floor, took out the roller, rinsed it in the sink and make sure it's wet. Put it back, make sure everything was clean. The one time used basket inside wasn't clean but I was planning to throw it away after this use. It started putting out too much water on my wood floor. Even rolling on the same spots with water against the previous direction, it still didn't want to pick up the water. So there go again, I have to wipe dry the floor with paper tower. Only after about 15 minutes, after changing my clean water container twice, the Hizeo started acting nicely. It was fun to use at this point. And it works much better on my tile floor though not perfect because my tiles have some texture and it's not perfectly flat. After about 20 minutes of cleaning, it's time to clean the machine. Now I got hairs not only on the inner brush roller, but at the edges of the roller. The rotating rod pushing the roller are all surrounded by hairs also and they are so hard to pull out. There is this small plastic piece at the end of the brush roller that just pop out, usually surrounded by hairs too. If not careful, you will loose it. Since I usually empty the hairs into my trash can, I have dropped that piece so many times. Such as poor design. There is this screen sitting behind the foam roller. You have to remove the solid catcher from the top, remove the foam before you can push it down through the small filter hole from inside. It is clogged at this point. I cleaned and put it back. So by now, I have had to turn the machine up and down two three times while laying it on the floor. My bathroom floor was wet again. Now, everything is put back, and I took it back to my laundry room and decided to run a self cleaning cycle. Pushed the start button, it tried to spin but stopped right away with giving a red light. Ya, I know I have put the screen back incorrectly. It's so hard to make put it back correctly every time unless I pull out the user manual and match the direction. Another lousy design. Why do I have to clean a screen that is so hard to pull out and put back correctly? By this time, since I have puled the screen out and back in, I have to lay the machine down again, flipped it a couple of times and my laundry room was wet again. That's what happened today. But as other reviewers have mentioned, if you don't lock the unit while carrying it, or slightly tilt it while carrying, you will get water all over the place. And worst, this thing doesn't seem to mop. it put out a sheen of water when working perfectly but can't clean any stain on my floor or dried water mark. It pulls in hairs very well and maybe other solid objects and that's about it. For those, I could use a vacuum cleaner. I really don't know what this thing is good for. In an hour and a half, I got 20 minutes of real cleaning time.

Cosmetic cleaning only
It indeed picks up some dirt. If you have large spill - it will probably remove it, but I was mostly interested in replacing a regular mop, which apparently this machine does not. I have bunch of stains near the high chair from dried milk, yogurt and other baby food, which I hoped I can quickly remove with Hizero. It did not - I did 15 passes over the stains and it barely scratched them, they were still clearly noteceable when shining a light at an angle. Taking the mop and just rubbing it for 5 seconds removed everything easily. Having said that - the water does come out muddy when you use it, so it's gotta be picking something up, unless the "mud" is produced by a gray roller itself, which would be a scam of the century. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that black hard rubber/plastic lip of the solid debris container (one next to the roller) catches on every crack between the hardwood tiles. You have to have super smooth surface for this machine to work. I found a workaround, which is just to run it diagonally rather than along/perpedicular to the tiles. It kind of works, but you still have to fight it when cleaning at the edges/walls. The water tank is really small. The machine has two settings for the water flow (the only adjustment that is possible, actually). On the lowest setting, full tank lets it run for 10 minutes and 20 seconds, while on the high setting run time reduces to 5 minutes and 10 seconds (it just uses twice as much water apparently). It is also a very time consuming process. I don't know how fast you are supposed to move the machine, so I let it pull itself forward at it's own pace and tried to tug it backwards at exactly the same speed. Doing 3 passes over each spot, it takes about an hour to do my kitchen. The floor comes out almost completely dry after you use the machine. There is some water residue, but it evaporates in seconds. All in all, I was expecting way better experience and results at this price point. I still need to do full mopping to remove all the dry stains prior to using this machine in order to get properly clean floor, which is kind of pointless.
