First of all, I bought this thinking I would be able to install a bulb and not have to use a power cord. I did not read carefully and I thought the bulb socket was battery powered. Now I know it DOES require a connection to an energy source like a cord set with a bulb. The good thing is I already had a cord set with a bulb so I just attached the bulb to this bulb socket and I still got what I wanted which was to be able to turn the light on in my room from the door. The remote control is super easy to use and I just set up it's base at the door as if it was a real light switch and I can easily remove the control because it's base is a little magnet. Also the remote control reaches far!!! My brother was experimenting with the distance and he was able to turn the light on from three rooms away! Overall, great product, especially for the price! Everything worked great, the remote is super cool, and it was simple and quick to set up!

It's so nice to have wall switches where you actually need them. These work great and you can actually feel the button you need in the dark. I mounted them with the ON/OFF buttons on top of each other rather than side-by-side because I think it's more intuitive and easier to find without looking. My stupid landlord made some weird choices when he built this new apartment complex. The coat closet door opens the wrong way so it's really inconvenient to hang up your coat or take off your shoes when you get home. But that's another topic. He also installed only one light switch, on the far end of our walk-through closet, between the bathroom and bedroom. It was a constant source of annoyance. I plugged this light socket adapter into the closet light, tacked the remotes to two walls, and, Voila! We have light switches exactly where we need them now. I had to glue the magnetic remotes into their bases because we kept knocking them down when groping in the dark. But no biggy. Also, the light fixture does not fit over the standard-sized light bulb anymore, but it's in the closet, and we're using a dimmed smart-bulb so we don't care. To fix this we could eventually get a smaller bulb but we prefer the ability to dim the smart bulb and turn the brightness up occasionally. There are smaller smart-bulbs we could get too, if we cared. Last, I really like that this light bulb adapter can be used and moved anywhere so we can use it in the future, wherever we move. Saves a lot of headache and wiring. I like that they have other uses as remotes too. I will buy again in the future when we need another one.

This is a wonderful product, works exactly as advertised, simple to setup & use almost immediately out of the box. I used this for my attic, so that when I pull down the attic stairs, the switch is right there. One press from down below, and the attic is lit up. And when I finish up there and about to push the stairs back up, there’s that switch (conveniently placed) to hit lights off. Man, I love this! It’s just wonderful when things work the way they are supposed to. This little item is like magic and makes life so much more easier, no wires, no electrician, just magic!. I had ordered something else at first, but sent it back and got this. Never been happier! I highly recommend these devices by this company. They just work, are nicely designed, and make your life so much easier. I really like that I can have two switches in different places without having to run wiring. The buttons seem to work just fine. It works as should. You can program it on its own code so you can run another set in another room. the switch is held on with magnet. It fine. just once in awhile in the dark I knock it off the holder. But not a biggy. I can't put a globe back on over light below ceiling fan. receiver sticks down to far. But its in the bedroom so I don't really care. Over all it very nice unit. I would buy this again. Think I gave $24 for the package. I bought one for an elderly person for her bedroom. She loves it so she don't have to walk in the dark. Batteries last a long time. years not days.

I put this in a room that didn't have a wall switch wired into the ceiling mounted light fixture. With this device, I was able to put in a wall switch without tearing into the walls. The space is not used too often so this type of set up works perfectly.

I'm very happy with the product as it worked exactly as I had expected. To briefly explain my usage of this product I'll give you a quick overview of my "project". Basically I wanted to power an outdoor security/surveillance camera and my only outdoor power sources at my home were switch controlled lights(light outside, switch inside). So I could hook the camera up through an adapter with a pass-through bulb socket on this line but the switch would need to be on all of the time for the camera to be on but I didn't want the light to always be on. So this product was a perfect solution for me. I connected the LoraTap to the adapter and screwed in the bulb. Then I could leave the main switch on all of the time and I controlled the light through the LoraTap switch instead of the main switch (I know the proper thing to do would be to put in another electric line but this was much cheaper and I wasn't prepared to invest that much for just this camera). Keep in mind if you do something like this all of these adapters will most probably bring the light bulb outside of its original fixture (it does in my case) so it doesn't look great but it serves its purpose. Also be aware of access to weather if it is outside of the fixture (mine is under an awning so it shouldn't be affected by direct rain). I hooked everything up and I tried to pair the device with the remote but it appeared it was already paired. I was lucky enough to have a metal plate over the old switch so the remote's magnet holds it nicely at the bottom of the plate (I slightly overlapped the switch itself as a reminder to use the buttons instead of the switch). And the remote signal easily went through the wall. Everything works as I had planned. Note: I received a message from Loratap after I ordered that it is not recommended to use with incandescent bulbs as they create too much heat. I used mine with a new LED bulb and it works great.

Our house was built in 1901 and there have been several remodels done over the years. In order to turn on and off the front porch light you have to go into another room where the wall switch is located - a major inconvenience. This nifty wireless device has changed all of that! We now have the light switch where you would normally find it - right next to the front door. The installation couldn't have been easier; the two parts were already 'paired' at the factory, so I didn't even have to deal with that. It was literally plug-and-play. I have no idea how long this device will last, but for now I couldn't be happier with it. I just wish I would've found it sooner! UPDATE: For some reason the system won't let me submit a separate review for the Remote + Outlet version of this same product, which we also bought for our old house. There are no overhead lights in some of the rooms, which means you have to walk into a dark room and fumble around for the lamp, which might be on the other side of the room. We were able to mount the wireless switch to the wall just inside the doorway so we can turn on the light(s) in the room without stumbling around in the dark. And as with the Remote + Socket product, it was literally plug-and-play easy!

This item is perfect for those situations where an outlet does not have a light switch to turn the power on and off. Perfect example is a lamp - you would have to walk over to the lamp and turn the lamp on or off, with this item, you simple put the self-adhesive portable light switch and the item will turn the lamp on or off! Absolutely no wiring, drilling, installation of new light switches or any of that unnecessary nonsense. Installation is easy (you would screw this socket into the lamp, and the light bulb onto the socket). Keep in mind that the socket does not support incandescent bulbs and has a maximum support of 30 W. I really like this item and it is super convenient and easy!
