Saf Instant Yeast is one of the top selling yeasts worldwide. No need to "proof" or dissolve SAF; just add along with your other dry ingredients. Use in any recipe calling for active dry yeast: artisan loaves, pizza, sandwich bread, bagels, rolls, and more. No need to adjust the amount, use just as the recipe says. Review: Works like a charm! - Great, active yeast that hasn’t let me down! Much cheaper than the little packets I was purchasing from the grocery store. I keep it in a jar in the freezer to maintain freshness and for easy access. Review: Best yeast ever. - Update: I've been using this for so many years that I've lost count. Just purchased this again, but I do things a little different now. I purchased a lock n lock container that holds 1 whole package and keep it all in the freezer. I have a special yeast scoop that has a retractable handle that I keep in it. As it gets to the bottom, I stretch the handle to make it easier. Still go through about 4 packages a year, sometimes more depending on how often I bake for others. I grind my own wheat and this is still my favorite yeast to use. Having 1 container saves me refill time. Original Post: I've been using this yeast over the past year and it's flawless. I mill our flour and make homemade bread for our large family so we go through about 8 lbs. of this per year. It will likely be more now that I'm making our own hotdog and hamburger buns too. We are trying to get away from packaged goods as much as possible and this price is fantastic for 4 lbs. Over half off what I usually pay per brick. Absolutely better than buying the small grocery store jars that I'd been using in the past. Easy to store in the freezer and lasts forever in there. I will absolutely be purchasing more next year. I buy a years worth at a time which will be 3 of the 4 packs. I separate each brick as I open them into small jelly jars with the amount I use in each 6 loaf batch of bread dough that I make. Then I just have to dump the premeasured amount into my mixture as needed. I always keep one jar labeled "Not for bread" to use for anything that I might need a different amount. Keep the jars in the fridge and this system works great for us. I just open another brick and refill my jars again as the last one is emptied. We go through almost 1 lb. of yeast a month so freezing isn't necessary. The unopened bricks are stored in a cool dry place and I use them up before making it to the expiration date. If we start not using as much, I'll start storing them in the freezer.

SAF-INStant Yeast Red Label always works!
SAF-INSTANT yeast Red Label has become my standard bulk yeast purchase. I've been buying it online for a number of years & it's always perfect. Solid thick foiled wrap that solidly sealed. Always pours out smooth, not lumps or clumps, and dissolves instantly in warm water, raising every recipe I've used it in. We have a Jorushi Bread Maker [our 3rd one over decades] so my husband loves making fresh bread several times a week. I've used other brands of yeast, and most are ok, though many take awhile to activate. I pour this pack into a glass quart canning jar with lid/cap & store it in the frig. My husband said, "Get the Red package one, it works the best." Bread makers can be more challenging, but Red Label always produces a consistently good rise. Bread comes out perfect & never 'yeasty' tasting. Fresh. Good til June 2026 so long shelf life, too. Good price. Quick free shipping on Amazon! Just made a huge batch of cinnamon rolls & double pizza crusts yesterday with my newest package. Works Great!!

VERY ACTIVE!
A deal! Alive, 2 teaspoons for typical 1lb bread loaf. Works every time. Even rises in fridge. You will not need to place near heat unless in a hurry like to get it to double in an hour for each rise. By the way, it rises the three times well: 2 in bowl, then in baking tin. I keep 1/2 in a container in fridge, 1/2 in freezer… never had a bad batch. Buy!

Old reliable
I have been using this yeast for the last couple of years and it has performed Great! I usually keep it in the freezer to store long-term after opening and whenever I need more, I pour some into a small container that is stored in the refrigerator.

Better yeast = better bread
I was using the active yeast with the brown jar from the supermarket, and I would get okay results. I wouldn't get the best rise from some of my breads or pizza dough. Then I looked up good yeasts and saw this one rated as pretty good. For the price, it's actually cheaper than what I was using. Right off, the rise was so much faster (which is to be expected comparing instant yeast to active dry). More importantly, the finished products were consistently better. This is solid. I'll probably continue having this one around for my regular baking.

It is a Good Product
I never liked instant yeast but have been very happy with the results of this Instant Yeast by King Arthur. I use it for every loaf of rye bread I make. Since rye bread is my favorite I have not tried other recipes.
