It Works!
To be honest......I was skeptical at first. I never found anything air fried as good as frying in oil. And boy was I wrong. We were looking for an alternative to the Butterball XL due to the cost of oil. My wife, a retired Registered Dietician, will never use oil more than once. Not once in the 50+ years I have known her. So, we do not fry all that often, but whatever we fry requires new oil. We started out many years ago with one of those outdoor pot fryers. Then we advanced to the indoor Butterball XL fryer. Much better than the mess with an open outdoor fryer. Back then you could actually get one for around 50 dollars on sale. Eventually we stopped using peanut oil and started using canola. Never really noticed the difference. Even with canola, as cheap as we can buy it, the cost was just south of 25 dollars to fill the Butterball. I noticed Amazon had this Big Easy for a low price....I always check the three Camels to be sure........and I read some good reviews so we gave it a try. We followed the set up directions, rubbed oil and spices on a 6.5 pound hen, gave it a couple of hours in the fridge to dry out, and stuck it in the fryer with a Weber BT thermometer. At about 140 degrees I put on the top rack/crisper. I probably did not need to place it on so early because it blackened the fingers and toes. In around 2 hours, as prescribed, the Weber went off at 165 degrees. So we ate the bird and I can honestly say this was the best whole chicken we have ever cooked. Like in 50 years we ever cooked. The meat was unbelievable juicy. Skin was crisp. Just perfect. Apparently this fryer, from other reviews I have read, is gentile on the propane as well. We usually cook 2-3 turkeys over the Holidays. And 16 pounds or less is fine. So this year alone we will save 50-75 dollars on oil along with the waste that used oil produces. And, over the years, we have had pretty good luck with Char-Broil products.

Good cooker for things you don't want smoke flavor on
Seems built well enough for intended use. We have done one chicken so far which turned out perfectly and plan on doing a turkey today. The turkey turned out great and it was a 20lb bird as labeled on the package. Let me give the details on that! After removing the neck, liver, heart, wing tips and fat it packs with we were at a weighed 17lb cooking weight!. No problem at all fitting it in the basket, cooking issues or removing it from the basket when finished! No complaints!

Quality cook, great price and easy cleaning
Overall, works well. For Thanksgiving we placed a 13.5 lb turkey in the Big Easy. It took a little over 5-hours to cook due to the weather and wind conditions (24-degrees and high winds). I would not recommend using in extremely cold weather unless you start early and account for the outdoor conditions. The brochure says you can place a 16-lb turkey in the basket, I would strongly recommend you go less than 16-lbs. Even at 13.5 lbs. we had a difficult time removing the bird. As far as taste and quality of the cook: Excellent. Family commented how it was the best turkey they ever had. Also, there was no muss and no fuss after clean up. Will be trying two 3-lb briskets for Christmas - can't wait. This product performs and is well worth the money.

So far so good
I have yet to fire it up, but wanted to rate for all those who complained about how hard it was to put together and there were only pictures and arrows. I guess they never followed Lego instructions. I will update once it gets fired up 12/23 update Fired it up and did a small chicken for a test run and was amazed at how simple and how well it works, did a 17lb turkey for thanksgiving took about 3 1/2 hours but came out perfect. It does what it says, I use blue tooth thermometers so it’s nice not having to stand and watch an oil fryer while it cooks. Set your temp and walk away

For the most part, it's a good oil less turkey deep fryer
I bought this for one sole purpose, to deep fried turkey at Thanksgiving. I hated the electric, oil deep fryer by Butterball ever since they came out with the new model. A slight touch to the electrical cord, the connector on the Butterball deep fryer would come off. I tossed that Butterball deep fryer and looked for another fryer. When I saw this oil less fryer and read the reviews on it, I bought it and used it last Thanksgiving. It was very easy to assemble and use. Hooked it up to a propane tank, turned it on and it's good to go. One thing that I noticed though is that the cooking time took considerably longer than what I expected or heard from other people. For a 14 lbs turkey, I think it took me something like 5 hours to deep fried and have internal temp reaching 185. Now that I know roughly how long it took to fully cooked a 14 lbs turkey, I can compensate for the time accordingly next time. The bright side is that the turkey came out superb. The skin was crispy, and the meat was juicy. Best part is that I don't have to spend the money on peanut oil to deep fried. Because there's no oil, it's healthier to deep fry in it. The basket that came with it can be a bit difficult to take the turkey out after cooking. I bought a collapsible basket that made it a bit easier to put the turkey in and remove after cooking, but I'm not wholly convinced if it was worth it. Neither basket is all that easy to clean by hand. I put them in the dish washer when I cleaned them, but I still scrubbed them down with a brillo pad first to remove as much of the stick on food.

We love our infrared cooker! We used to use a Turkey deep fryer but gave up when buckets of oil went up to almost $50 in our area. I’m really happy that I found this cooker instead of another fryer!! This thing makes Turkey and chicken turn out just like rotisserie from your fav take out and it easily cooke ribs and other extras at the same time using other attachments that we bought separately. Potatoes and veggies can cook up top, ribs on the side and two chickens in racks below. Love it! And it uses much less propane than our deep fryer used to. It’s not nearly as fast but it tastes much better and cooks much more evenly and not to mention safer!

Have had one for over 10yrs. This is the same brand as the last one. Once you use this fryer you will never use an oil fryer again. Has the exact same juicey flavour with crispy skin as an oil fryer but healthier. And you don’t have to worry about overflowing the oil and causing a possible deck fire! Absolutely fantastic fryer!

I've cooked a variety of meats in this cooker, from ribs, pork roasts and chickens to moose roasts. It does a great job on all of them and when I use a meater thermometer with it everything is cooked just how we like it. The cleanup only takes a few minutes, that's a big selling point for me. As a matter of fact I like it so much I just ordered another one for our hunting camp and maybe another for our place in Mexico. Update: I now own 4 of these things, bought a lightly used one on Kiijji for 50 bucks so we have a spare one for cooking for large groups and we got one for Mexico. Cooked the Xmas turkey for the neighbors and they all raved about it.

Used this for the first time in Thanksgiving and the turkey was a hit! So easy to prepare and then it just did it's thing. My one complaint would be that there were no assembly instructions that I could find, but YouTube to the rescue.
