I am enjoying the electric insert. Make sure you measure properly. I could not find one that had a proper height for my cut out, so I had to buy 2 inch black sheet metal to attach to a metal threshold I had from the previous fire place insert. I attached the 2 inch sheet metal to the old piece; and worked out great. You can see from the picture. The insert puts off some heat, but not that much, there are two modes, low and high. Cozy, quiet, with a realistic looking flame. My only negative would be the cheesy crackling noise that is supposed to be the sound of wood crackling.

This arrived today, so my rating may be updated later. So far, so good. I read tons of reviews and chose this because the dimensions were a 1/4" shy on each side of my actual opening and it had a btu rating of 5100. We have a 1966 wood burning fireplace that we've used once in 4 years, and not successfully. It's just not efficient or warm. The room is about 600 sq ft and has radiant floor heat, in a concrete slab, which is great to take the chill off but not enough to really warm the room. I wanted something that used the existing fireplace to assist the radiant heat and would make the room warm enough for a few hours in the evening after work. The crackle sound isn't very realistic but can be turned off. The fan blower is quiet. The internal thermostat went from 57 to 65 in about an hour on blower setting high. The room air felt warmer and stayed warm after turning it off. The power button door is sturdy and easy to open. The remote is a nice touch but you have to turn it on and off at the insert, so not really needed. It appears well built and looks nice. It fit my 36x27 opening perfectly. I love the black power cord. I like it better without the ambient light feature on. It looks more realistic. I wish it were a little deeper than 9". It would let the logs sit back from the glass a little more. I also wish the faux brick on the inside also covered the back where the flame screen is. Overall it looks nice and fills out my unused fireplace nicely. Time will tell if it's reliable, but overall a great price for a secondary heat source that makes t.v. watching more comfortable.

I'm a building contractor in northern California with 43 years of experience. After comparing all the other choices I went with this one for a rental property I have. The existing wood burning fire place is messy to use and smells up the house so I tell renters not to use. This unit is a great option. I'm very impressed with it. It really is a quality product. The flame look, build quality, crackling sound, and heat it generates is awesome. It came slightly damaged so I reached out to customer service. They were outstanding. They responded immediately and were incredibly helpful. They sent me a new unit right away. I am now going to order another one for my house. I highly recommend.

Pretty pleased w purchase. If it lasts, good value for the money. $370 vs $1400 for the one I really wanted. Easy installation. Fire looks better than expected. Heats the room well, but blower is a bit loud. Crackling fire noise is awful - sounds like a skateboard w metal wheels. Will not use. Remote control doesnt work well. Id have been happy to pay an extra $30-$40 for quiet blower, better remote and nice fire sound. They make a decent looking fire. How hard can it be to record a real fire and loop it on a chip?

This is a realistic looking fireplace for the money. I wanted something that looked as close to real as possible and that had heating capacity. And this has met my expectations. We were building a house and were given the options, gas fireplace, over $2000 for chimney and flue or an electric for $900. I went to Amazon to read reviews and this is what I decided to get for about $310. I bought it and put it on the pole barn and had the builder make the proper size hole in the fireplace opening. The electrician put a 110 volt plug inside the fireplace opening with a switch outside. I have to say it is well packaged in Styrofoam because the box was banged around a bit in the pole barn with all our other stored home goods. After the false stone was finished, I plugged it in, pushed the fireplace into the hole and turned it on, it was that easy, less than 2 minutes. It has a variety of color settings and light intensity settings, I find that the standard setting looks the most realistic. It also has a 1500 watt heater that blows air out the top of the fireplace. It does offer some heat but don't expect it to heat a large room, maybe a small room. If you think this looks exactly like a real flame you are wrong. But if you want something that looks as close to the real thing as possible, this is it. And what is nice about this is that you can have it on and not have the heat on so you can use this all year round.

When we experienced a small issue with it 6 months after installation, Amazon put us directly in touch with the seller who PROMPTLY answered all of our questions and fixed the issue immediately. Love this electric fireplace! It completes our living room and gives it a cozy vibe. The lights are great and it gives off excellent heat. We don't use the sound but it is a nice added option. Install was easy and fairly quick. Highly recommend!

We bought the 43'' fireplace and we looove it!! If you are looking for the perfect electric fireplace, this is it! Easy to install, the flames and the logs look SOO REAL, two heating options with timer. My husband and I are very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommand.

Original insert had given up the ghost! This fireplace insert works great and was far superior to the original. Super easy to install (if your dimensions are compatible) Option to change background lighting is impressive. Heat is good and very quiet. Remote controls all functions flawlessly. This product looks impressive and would highly recommend.

There is no way you can secure it to the wall, no like other fireplaces you can screw the whole unit to the wall, this one just put into the wall, also the sound it make for fireplace is sound so cheap, the speaker need to upgrade

Looks fantastic / easy to install. It came well-packed/protected, so it was in good order despite several dings on the box caused by crappy couriers. Watch ANY video on how couriers handle boxes marked fragile to see just how crappy they are. So that was a relief. Love the look, color options, & timer. Throws good heat too! The only negative (for me) is the fire crackling audio. I think it sounds...bad. lol my wife doesn't mind it though.
