Handy little device
Might be slightly too wide for some applications but the touchscreen works wonders

I changed my review from 4 to 5 stars. Despite the poor documentation It's a great display, with great great picture quality, resolution and touch screen. Perfect for a Volumio local interface. The documentation is bad, very bad. Almost all the info is there but it's not presented or written in a user friendly way. The directions for downloading the STL files for a printable case for a Raspberry Pi specify the online folder but not the main url. Some files are missing like the case back with fan openings for an RPi the PNG files are there but no STL, hopefully they will fix soon. Installation was straightforward despite the poor instructions. Once you modify your config.txt which was properly documented though one line was in red in the docs, not sure why, maybe optional, and then figure out their bad docs on the cabling the display came up smoothly. It appears to have built in speakers which I am not using, has a nice acrylic case though it's not open in the back to attach the FPC cables, so I have to print a case or take my dremel out.

The transparent green acrylic case mine came in is quite attractive, but the feet to prop it up are not level or adjustable, and the kit doesn't even come with the right screw size for them. They have STLs for printing your own case on their Github, but I'll probably make a custom design to replace those feet because I really like the look of the acrylic. As for the screen itself, it's surprisingly functional. The touch screen does not work super well with multiple monitors, as it sometimes becomes associated with the wrong display. However, the picture quality is solid, and the brightness adjusts to be bright enough for most setups. The bezel is rather large and bulky, but for the price point, that's part of the tradeoff you're making. Overall a positive unboxing experience. There are definitely little improvements that can be made here or there, but any PC or SBC tinkerer can easily take something like this and do a number of fun projects with it.

I attached the included brackets and I'm going to use it as a Discord feed/system monitoring device. Only wish is that they include a back cover if you're not mounting a Raspi to it. Haven't tried touchscreen functionality yet, but it gets very bright and has lots of features for the price. Pros: ] Good price, similar to just the panel on some sites ] Lots of features, native Raspi support/PC HDMI mode ] Build quality on point, you can tell some of the parts are 3D printed but there's no flex or weird plastic feeling Cons: [ No plastic backing included, board is exposed making it suspectable to ESD if you're not careful handling it/put it in a metal case or on a metal stand.

Worked great, then stopped working. No backlight after an upgrade/reboot of the Pi. Pi HDMI still worked fine connected to my TV. Very poor build quality/ reliability.

Installed Raspberry Pi 3 B+, and using a custom 5amp usbc power supply.... Boots great setup information perfect, nice clear image .. Touchscreen work 100% better without film screen cover the little tab you peel, but note there is an applied screen protector beneath, take that off touch screen is perfect.... power delivery to Pi blows increasing volume or brightness will cause lightning bold icon on display (Low Pi Power) I believe powering the screen and pi separately will fix. Built in speakers CRAP...... all in all I like it I will do the job of diy sdr radio but with external speakers...
