I have the Hollyland M1 Mic set. Before purchasing this adapter, I had purchased another adaptor for the cord that came with the mic in order to use it with my iPhone. Unfortunately, that didn’t work, and I thought it was because it wasn’t compatible with my Iphone 14 Pro Max. But after purchasing this, I realized that wasn’t the case. This adapter works perfectly and I love that it’s a one piece cord without having to use an iPhone/earphone jack adaptor.

You may have noticed that some people get this to work, and others don’t. Mine wasn’t working. I looked on the product website, NOTHING. Then I did a more global search on the problem. Search Result: App Must Support External Lightning Audio. What this means is that not all apps allow you to use an external lightning audio input. I was trying to use an iPhone app called Voice Recorder. No luck. After my internet search, I then decided to try it in Voice Memos and in the iPhone Camera app, and it worked perfectly in both. So, if yours doesn’t work, try it in one of the native Apple apps! If it works there, the problem is the app you’re using and not the cable! I’m giving this 4 stars because the company really needs to explain this better and save us frustration.

If you're using an iPhone app with mic input and do not need simultaneous audio out (e.g., monitoring), this cable will allow you to replace the iPhone's internal mic with any external microphone not requiring phantom power that has or can be adapted to a 3.5mm TRS connection. The cable is compact and only allows a few inches of separation but does seem to be sturdy enough to hold up to normal use. Not quite sure of its technical audio performance, but paired with a quality omni mic, its spectral response did show reduced background noise and improved sensitivity.

Doesn’t work, don’t waste your money or time. I have tried every Apple product I own and it will not connect. Now I have to order the Apple adapter and wait/ exchange this.

Great adapter that works with Hollyland as well as other products. I use it with my Comica VM30 wireless shotgun mic to have a shorter cable connecting the receiver to my iPhone. Works like a charm.

The cable works as you expect it too. Plug in the lightning cable, plug the 3.5mm connector to your microphone receiver and you will be able to use external microphone in the iPhone Camera app. Where some recent reviews may be getting it wrong is when you are playing back the video, there are two things that can go wrong. 1. When you play the video back in the photo app you need to unplug the lightning cable. The iPhone thinks it is a pair of headphones and will route audio through it instead of the speakers. 2. When you are playing back a video in the photo app by default it starts muted. You will see an icon in the status bar to unmute it.

Needed this to connect the Hollyland Lark M1 Wireless Lavalier Microphone receiver to my iPhone. Given that the lightning connector is on it's way out, buying the iPhone specific set didn't seem to make sence. The cable works with no issues.
