This item is well made and includes everything you need to get started. The ant house was well packaged and the live ants were securely packaged too. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase. Set up is simple and there are tutorial videos available. My ant farm is now set up and within a few minutes the ants began to dig their nest. Amazing product, healthy ants, prompt delivery. No complaints.

Excellent! Delivered quickly. Healthy colony with the queen and a good number of workers. Set up looks good and was easy for my daughter to do herself. The ants settled into their new home quickly and she is always excited and interested to see what new tunnels they've dug. Its also provided a great learning opportunity for her and shes full of ant information for us. Very happy

Order arrived couple of days earlier than expected. Queen ant healthy with 9 workers and eggs. Farm is great size for ants to grow colony and nice accessories. Difficult part was getting sand damp throughout and would advise adding a few drops of water every 2-3 inches added as adding water after filled was difficult. Overall very happy with purchase and ants moved into new home within 30 minutes with first chamber made within 12 hrs. Would buy again if needed.

This is a good starter kit. Everything came as described, and it's great to be able to start a colony so easily with everything you need in one box. I'd slightly question the design of the formicarium. It's great that you can see all the tunnels made by the ants, but ants, and especially queens, shy away from the light and prefer the darkness found under the ground. To simulate this, most of the time we have a sheet of card on either side of the 'underground' division of the formicarium. I'd also question the price. I think this is very expensive for what you get, which is essentially some sand, some ants, and a small plastic box that a 15 year old could probably make in a materials class at school. But then, it is quite an unusual and specialist piece of equipment, so I suppose that justifies the price to some extent. If you are at all crafty, I'd recommend having a go at making a formicarium yourself, finding some sand, and finding a queen or buying one online for much less than this. Finally I'd add that the instructions are quite poorly translated, amusing so, but also often confusing. You can find better ant care advice online.

This ant farm is fascinating. Really easy to set up and arrived before delivery date. The packaging is second to none and the ants arrived safely

The ants arrived healthy, there was a mix of adults, juveniles and larvae as well as a magnificent Queen. It was simple to assemble. The sand to go in the nest section is dry so I wet the layers. Not sure if this was necessary but figured tunnels would be hard with dry sand. I put the tube in the forage area and let them make their own way out. Within the day they had begun digging, the queen went underground and the workers moved all the babies. The set comes with sugar water and I put some pieces of fruit in the forage box too. Looking forward to the network emerging soon!

We bought this for my son for his 10th birthday and it has been a huge hit with the whole family! It is fascinating to see how the ants organise themselves so quickly. Set up was so easy as everything we needed was there and a very helpful instruction video.

Iniziamo con il sloggiare le spedizioni. Velocissime e soprattutto il pacco è arrivato impeccabile. L'imballo era a dir poco fantastico. Tutto protetto da eventuali urti. La teca (scelta da me trasparente) è davvero molto bella. La colonia di formiche è arrivata ben custodita e numerosa. Una volta allestita la teca con la sabbia e i vari accessori ho aperto la provetta e lasciata lì in modo che possano foraggiare tranquillamente e trasferirsi poi con calma quando si sentiranno pronte. In più hanno già delimitato la loro zona "spazzatura" dove hanno portato la loro collega defunta. Unica nota negativa(ma probabilmente mi sbaglio) è la sabbia un po' poca. Mi manca almeno 1 cm per riempire tutta la teca, ma probabilmente forse è calcolato così perché magari in fase di scavo, la sabbia in eccesso va a saturare quello spazio. Chissà. Riassumendo la consiglio molto, sia il prodotto che il venditore.

Excellent, just as advertised. Ants came very lively and well! A beautiful and complete set, easy to assemble and put in place, we'll wrapped. The messor barbarus ants accommodated very fast, after leaving the tube in the ant farm for one day, they already started diging. It was a gift and my son loves it! All around beautiful gift or item to have!
