Q: Would this torch be any good for soldering gold rings or is the flame to big.

I’ve never soldered a gold ring but I would think that the flame on this torch will be too big. The flame doesn’t turn down much. I used it to solder a cast iron radiator where it worked really well.

Q: My torch wont ignite, its got gas but the ignition buton dont work and neither does a lighter. There isn't a 'hissing' sound when i turn the valve?

I found that I had to keep opening the valve until I heard the gas. Could take a couple of turns. Also, make sure the valve is screwed well down on the gas cylinder.
