Update: Five months later my plants are still going strong and this is in a basement with no natural light. Very happy with this purchase!!Original Review: This is one of my favorite things I've ever purchased from Amazon. It's stylish, functional, and comes packaged as efficiently as something from IKEA. The price is very fair. Assembly was quick and I'm very happy to have my desktop plants getting a little light now. I've only been using it for a week so I don't know, yet, if it will keep my succulents alive but I will certainly report back if I have a problem. I'm a windowless, underground office so it has it's work cut out for it. I'm a normal customer, not a paid reviewer.

I'm using this grow station to provide lighting for my succulent collection. I've purchased 2 of these and it's been a bit of a learning curve. I assumed I could put any type of succulent in here and everything would be great. Yeah ... no. Both my Aloes and my Haworthia do not care for this grow light. We have some severely light stressed plants here. My aloes have changed from a lovely green to a muddy brown. Same with the Haworthia.However, my Echeveria and my Crassulas are loving it. I think my cactus likes it too but who can tell with those guys? I am getting amazing color and growth. So for those types of succulents these stations are great.Putting the stations together was simple once I figured out that you need to "wiggle" the pieces in place. Don't try and jam them in, it won't work and you might break a piece. The timer works perfectly but it's hard coded which means you can't change the duration of the time it's on unless you override that with another timer. The default setting is 16 hours on, 8 hours off.Overall, this is a great little product providing you choose your plants carefully.

The assembly was easy, the whole unit fits in a narrow space. It gets just the right amount of light to my herb starts and seeds. Couldn't ask for anything more except to have it water for me! I really am pleased with my purchase....I have been using it steadily now for many months - several crops.

Very elegant seed starter light! Initially could not figure out how to get the panels to fit together. Later on figured out by wiggling the panels into the slots back and forth against the horizontal slots, it was fast and easy.Light works great as a night light and helps growing from seeds a breeze.Used some empty Qui yogurt jars to start growing until I purchaded some white - self watering containers from Amazon.

It was delivered to the wrong address again when ever fed delivres things it takes so long to get and they drop it off at the wrong apartment bit thankfully my neighbor let me know

Not completely what I expected. It would also be great if they did provide pots in the kit just to remove having to hunt down pots that will fit.It did come cracked, and was easily remedied with some crazy glue. it is good for smaller plants and starting plants. My original plan was to use it for an herb garden, I would not recommend it for this.I did purchase this on sale, but I think its still cost way more than other similar solutions especially for PVC housing jigsaw with LEDs.

The media could not be loaded. I have one already this is my 2d one. I get it cuz my plants love it. But the only downfall is putting It together. It's hard to get the pieces in the slots. If you use a hammer, it can be easily broken. I had accidentally cracked the side of it and had to glue it back together. It seems to be not made of wood but of some sort of plyboard, which is very easy to break, so be careful putting it together. I will say that the brightness in the light is perfect for growing plants. It's strong enough that my plants actually like it. I keep tons of cactuses in it because of the light.It is very strong. It doesn't really admit any kind of heat, which is why I don't use it for my carnivorous plants, but I do use it for cactuses or I use them for nursery plants. It also does not have a timer. It's basically just a Lightbox, you have to buy your own timer. I'd say for the value of the light box. It's great if it's twenty dollars any more than that.It's not really worth for me to buy. I got it on sale for twenty.

This grow light was VERY easy to put together and have operating in less than 10 minutes. It's great to put in an office with no windows. I had 4 plants underneath the grow light for many months now and they have all survived. I recommend low-growing plants that don't reach high heights, such as succulents. Easy to clean up too and wipe down. Timer is great for when I had to leave office too. Have someone else water every once in a while.
