Due to pinched spinal nerve I am developing a slap foot gate. The right foot slaps down just after the heel strike. Muscles are weak on the front of the calve- starting to atrophy. Left foot will follow. Surgery is complex and dangerous so I will live with this. This product helps me walk like a normal person. I suggest you wear thick socks, and remove any insoles in your footwear. You may still need some protective tape to protect against blisters, but it is well worth it to walk again. The straps are long enough. I have also shaved down the back of the heels on my shoes. That reduces the leverage to slap the front of the foot down. This product on the right foot will interfere with driving so you will need a separate driving shoe. Good Luck.
