How come it doesn’t say anything on the little bottle about ph level for pickling?

These directions for pickling using NuTan are simplified for the beginner tanner. White vinegar is a mild organic acid and by using the recommended amount in the directions, the acid will dissipate in the hide or skin making it not necessary to adjust the pH. salted hides ,have dry salted river otter hides,will they need a pickle bath before using the tanning oil?

Yes, we recommend rehydrating the skins first, then going into a pickle bath, then if necessary, shaving and degreasing before applying NuTan. Full instructions will be on the bottle. Thank you.
