Great entry level baitcaster !
I always wanted a baitcaster reel, but they were usually quite expensive, and I wasn't sure if I want to spend lots of money on a reel I won't be able to use (they are not easy to use at all). Then I found this little marvel :) I've read reviews, watched some videos on YouTube, and read the product reviews here . Lot's of people said it's garbage - that it didn't work, or they got birds nets each casts etc...I really do not get it ..... Did they bother at all to watch the videos on how to tune, and how to cast with these ?I literally spent 30 minutes watching some Bass anglers from the US showing how to tune these reels, how to spool them, how to remove backlashes (aka birds' nests), and how to cast, while I was waiting for the delivery.Once I got the reel delivered,I spooled it with a Guru Pulse 10lb mono, put it on a rod, attached a practice weight (12g - as most of my lures are that size/weight). Fiddled with the settings for about 10 minutes, and started practising casts (different type casts - overhead, backhand, under arm swing etc). I maybe got one or two bigger backlashes when my practise lure has hit an obstacle before landing at target - but that was not a problem, as they were not completely dramatic. And knowing how to remove them, after watching those videos, it took me 2 minutes to be back at casting practice. Then I practised the fine tuning (with spool tension knob and magnetic break), and I got it just right. Each cast - just perfect not even a slight backlash. I did also practice using my thumb to slow down the reel in the last phase of the lure's flight, and that worked like a charm too !Generally what I can say is this:- despite the initial learning curve, and the fact that reels of this type do not have a spool clip to allow you for precise casting (I utilise the clip on my carp reels all the time), I was still able to cast very accurately , to the same spot over and over again. In fact by the end of the 1h test session - I felt like I've been using baitcasters forever.- the spool tension knob is a bit difficult to get the right tension, but then - it's a cheap baitcaster, what do you expect. I was however able to compensate it with the magnetic break.- the drag is well - cheap - but not impossible to set correctly as well, so not a big deal. (It would be if this reel was expensive though). It is a brilliant entry level baitcaster, that doesn't break your budget. I know for sure that after a while I might buy one of the better models from this line, most likely the Silver Max.For me this reel is just perfect (lure fishing, with medium/small lures (10 - 15g) ).BTW. the important part is also what rod are you using (what kind of action etc)... This reel is a low profile reel, so it needs to be used with a casting rod, not a spinning rod.The rod I'm using with this reel is the Shakespeare Ugly Stick GX2 caster rod (not the spinning one), Medium 6'6" (1/4-5/8 ounce (which is roughly 7g - 21g) lure weight )

Brilliant reel if you wind with your right hand...
Nice quality reel, I fish with the handle to the right so it's perfect for me, it works well, has a quality build feel about it too.feeding line on is fine, make sure you use a thin guage line, the mechanism for casting is brilliant, comes with instructions so don't worry, you can easily read and practice that perfect cast.....

A fabulous little reel.
Shiney, compact, great to hold, my only gripe is that there were no right handed reels left.My daughter uses this one, you can get quite a bit of line onboard at a lower poundage, it's very smooth and the brake wheel is easy. A fiddley moment when trying to thread the line through the feeder hole but I should've put my glasses on.It's an Abu and it's a bargain at this price.

Very easy to use
As a beginner I was apprehensive about buying one but this is the best investment IV made, easy to use and great value for money.

Expected more from this
I use this reel to fish, with a small Fladen rod, from a sea kayak. I find it very difficult to reel in the fish, I have tried adjusting the friction but it still does not reel in smoothly. Reeling in the lead weight, with no fish, is a chore. Just not what I expected from this reel.

This is a fantastic little reel
This is a fantastic little reel. However I have sent it back only because the photo clearly shows a right hand retrieve reel and the one I received was a left hander. So disappointed with that however the reel is top notch ( Very Small ) but very well made and silent, I will be ordering this again in the blink of an eye as soon as I can be assured it is a right hand retrieve reel.

Small but very nice
The spool Is tiny. Overall the reel is about half the size of an Ambassaduer 6500, but the size of the the spool seems to be less than an eighth of the size of the spool on the other reel. It still feels like an Ambassaduer though.Multiplier reels should be fished on top of the rod, unlike fixed spool reels.

Great baitcasting reel
This review is for Abu part no. 1140451. This is a very good little baitcasting reel for the money. Has a line capacity of 175m of 0.30 mono which is not quoted in the specs on the Amazon listing. Please note that it is intended for baitcasting and lure work and as such is used on top of the rod. This means a right-handed fisherman needs a left-hand wind reel to facilitate one handed casting without changing hands for the retrieve. I would recommend it be paired with a 5-50g baitcasting rod of no more than 7'6" (2.28m).

acquisto errato
Il prodotto è arrivato in breve sembra di buona fattura peccato che ho ordinato il prodotto errato in quanto cercavo un mulinello da spinning e non da Casting per cui lo sto restituendo
