Used this to paint my kitchen counter. Overall great purchase, but definitely get a top coat bc the paint will chip otherwise

Top is Bone (2 quarts, 3 coats) and bottom is London (1 quart, 2 coats). Previous finish was an antiqued off white Rustoleum DIY kit back in 2013. Used the deglosser as instructed. Cabinets are 40 years old. Four stars until I see how durable this paint is. It’s not a chalk paint or anything I’ve ever used before, so there was a learning curve. I used the brush and roll method. The round brush is high quality and surprisingly so are the foam rollers. Problems mentioned in other reviews were helpful. Some that I encountered and fixes: - Streaking/brush strokes/sticking: Load up the brush liberally to halfway, wipe off only one side on can, and paint only with the loaded side. The point is to spread the paint evenly in manageable sections with the brush, then lightly roll immediately to disperse air bubbles. - Large air bubbles: Too much paint. Spread paint with brush to where the brush still feels slick but not goopy. - Paint pigment separated upon opening can: Stir, don’t shake, at least 2 min or until blended. Stir each time can is opened again. - Paint spilled on arrival (Amazon): This happened with Amazon, but not direct from HTP (packaged better). Paint was same quality, thickness etc. - Color not accurate: I had shadowing in my kitchen that caused the London to look more blue than green, at first. As paint cured, it morphed into its true color. - Lighter colors needing more coats: True, but not the ridiculous 4-6 coats others mentioned. If you apply the paint generously, 3 coats is plenty. Two was perfect on the London. - Rollers/brush flaking apart: Use the tool cleaner provided after every use, especially around the roller edges. The flaking is dried paint, not foam. No brush hairs experienced. Impressions: Love the look. This is by no means a one coat paint and doesn’t claim to be. It is WORK to tape, drop cloth, wash, prep, and remove hardware and hinges (no way could I paint with doors on, good grief). But the look is worth it. Four stars because I’m not happy with the way it feels (rough) and I don’t know how durable it will be after the 30 day hard cure period. If it’s scratch resistant and able to keep clean, I will update to 5 stars. I did not seal or put a polycryl finish on.

We’ve probably all seen this paint advertised everywhere from social media to browser ads. It’s as good as advertised! I asked the seller to leave an oak cabinet behind because I thought it would work well as a buffet for holiday meals. It’s in my sunroom, which is where I essentially LIVE. The sunroom is yellow and the furnishings are primarily white or wicker. The oak cabinet with dark ornate hardware really didn’t go. I ordered this paint. I got 2 cans but used less than one. No priming. No sanding. No special cleaners. It took three coats to get even and opaque coverage. I’m not handy. I used a paint brush. I replaced the hardware and the cabinet looks awesome!! I did some final touch ups after this photo. Yes, there are a few drip marks, but that’s poor painting, not poor paint. The paint claims to adhere to metal, so I painted the hinges too! (That was the additional touching up I did today. Hinges look better than pictured.) I was struggling to find replacements that worked and fearful I’d be unable to get them attached properly. Painting them worked fine. I’m a 65-year-old woman and I did this myself. The paint is seriously foolproof!! Photos are before and after.

Best paint ever for my dining table!

I wanted to love this paint as it was a gorgeous color (bone). However, after following instructions to paint a dresser by cleaning, painting and allowing paint to dry, I am still able to scratch the paint off. The material I’m working on is I believe particle board with some type of wrap over it. I’m thinking about using a top coat to see if it helps but honestly I’m disappointed that I invest extra money on this paint expecting to not need a primer or top coat to seal the color. I’m sure this works better on other material so do your research.
