This works good. It’s honestly just longer piece of wood that you could buy from Home Depot or Lowe’s, but it did the job!

I loved this product so much I bought two. It keeps my 2.5 year old safely away from my stairs in my town home. It is very sturdy, and easy to install.

During assembly I was a bit surprised by the use of zip ties, but it works

It took a little bit of creativity to make it work but putting the gate up without it would have been so much harder. Seems to be of good quality too!

Maybe if you have a symmetrical square banister this is ok (although the black zip ties are hideous and the foam tape will certainly damage your banister when removed), however if you have a round banister the instructions say to use "extra foam" to pad it out... so you have to go find something to work with the round part yourself and once you do it'll still slide around and not be secure. Also, if the base of your banister is extra wide (mine is 4.5") the zip ties won't fit anyway - I joined two together to get it to work but it looks terrible and the description didn't say anything about a limit on the width of the banister. Slides all over the place even when the zip ties are as tight as possible. Will be returning this disaster.

I did not want to put holes in the railing, and how this item worked helped us put a gate to protect the younger ones.

This gate is excellent!! I feel so confident that my grandchild is safe from our stairs.
