I tried out every type of finger splint for my mallet finger while waiting for an appointment with the orthopedist. This is both the most comfortable and also the one that he approved as keeping my finger in the proper extended position. I bought a couple of spares so I can swap if one gets wet or dirty. A big benefit of this style is that if I do ever have to remove it, I can get it on and off without accidentally bending my finger. I did try the same style in a different brand, but the strap wasn't as wide, so it didn't immobilize the joint as well. The one modification I made for additional comfort was to add a needle-felted wool pad on the base and under the strap for cushioning and to keep my finger from feeling clammy against the foam.

This splint is exactly what I’ve been looking for for almost a year! The orthopedic doctor I saw wasn’t helpful and gave me a plastic guard that did not straighten my fingertip and the pain has been intense. This product truly works because you can customize the fit to actually straighten your fingertip. I can’t say enough positive about this product. Once I adjusted it and fastened it securely on my pinkie it immediately relieved the pain. Thank you for offering this tip guard!

I use it for a week now and it is easy to use, put it on and off to wash it. The issue is with the quality of the velcro. The soft part is getting bold. I need to wear it for 2 months and I might need to get a new one at some point. P.S. I was going to complain that after less than a week the soft part above the metal part fell off BUT... I used gloves, working around the house etc and had to wash it every night because the splint would stink. But after the soft part fell off the stink is gone! And it has a smaller profile and I like it better just the metal part and the velcro. I put some bandage tape so it does not move much and I can do anything including working out. So, good item overall, does the job

Superb life changing product. I injured my finger 👉 tip in 1997 while i was in the Marines. I was given a plastic over under splint that fixed my mallet finger after a few months. Well unfortunately I re injured the same injury recently. I bought a brace, the plastic oval 8 that kind of worked, then lastly the same splint I had in the Marines. However these products just stabilized my finger. Taking it off would result in the mallet finger returning. Thankfully I found this product. Oh my! The relief i had by forcing my finger to go slightly upward. It eventually re trained my finger to go back to its normal position. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! If you have mallet finger. I plan to keep the finger splint because I plan to add another strap to secure my finger better as shown in the second picture. I wanted these for two reasons: So I can bend the tip up and because it will dry quickly after a shower. Using only one strap the finger splint is not secure unless you tighten until it is too tight that it hurts. The last picture I showed is what I have been using, but it doesn’t have the slant I need which I did a makeshift slant of my own. The splint should not have to hurt to be secure. The splint needs another strap. This splint may be sufficient for a trigger finger, but does not work for my drop finger, (aka mallet or hammer finger). Maybe it works for others that have it.

A great alternative to other splints especially if you have mallet finger. It keeps your finger in a hyperextented position which is great for healing. The Velcro is strong and durable. Two sizes came in the package. Only 3 stars because I don't like the feeling of the plastic Velcro strap between my other fingers. If this doesn't bother you it's a good choice.

Made for malet finger (broken finger tip). Very comfortable. Came in two sizes (see pics) I’m using the big one for now and i cover with athletic tape just to keep it from twisting at all and protect top of finger. Great buy! You want to bend it a little to keep finger tip straight so it heals. The little one is tiny - maybe good for a child but i would wrap a kids finger on top of that so it stays put. Of course check with your doctor !

This product is great especially the sample they gave with the purchase. I'm a petite woman and so have small hands and fingers. The normal size is great for normal people but those of us who are petite (and children) need a smaller size. Also, with mallet finger, I only need it for the tip not the entire finger. The smaller size is perfect for me. So, thank you for including the sample smaller version.
