Ok, so I'm a coffee junkie. Even my gamer ID is GreyJavaJunkie on xbox live. I'm in my early 40's now and I have been addicted to coffee since I was 17. I haven't been without coffee for a day probably going back to my teens and I drink a lot of it throughout the day up to right before I go to bed and it doesn't keep me awake. I use a high end auto espresso machine and the crema it makes is to die for and my favorite time of day is the first taste of that crema. I really even hate most other coffee out there in public unless it is fresh ground and brewed and sometimes I think I'm sick because I don't want to leave home to be without MY coffee. I'd go to the shrink for this, but part of the sickness may be that I like it this way. This is just flat out one of my favorite daily coffees and I've used most premium Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee and some of that was brought home from the Southern Carribbean myself directly from the source. This blend may not be as good as some JBM peaberry from the high end estatates, but for a while I use 100% Colombian and then some Sumatra and the JBM but when I come back to this "orange bag coffee" which is what it is referred to now, I just love it and keep coming back to it. Clearly with some of the reviews here the opinions are pretty varied, but this stuff is good. It does not need to be completely air sealed to be fresh, so that is not a big deal. Of course it does come down to opinion and taste, but I thought you might want to find out the opinion from a complete coffee snob and addict.

I used to buy this coffee at Costco until I found out it was on Amazon. In my opinion, this is the best coffee. Very aromatic, not bitter. Now I will order it all the time.

This Jamaican blend is rich in flavor, with reasonable acidity, and a mild body. It is a nice mixture of light and medium roast beans. The mix appears to be a mix of genuine JBM (light roast), some peaberry (light and medium roast), and some medium roaste which have characteristics of Columbian and Mexican beans. This gives the coffee the characteristic Jamaican Blue Mountain mildness and acidity, with a bit more body and taste from the darker beans. This makes it an all around "anytime of the day" coffee. It does have a hint of a "bite," or bitter aftertaste. Compared to other JBM blends we have tried, this is a pretty good blend. We used to buy this coffee from WorldMarket for $14.99/2 pounds, but the beans were always dried out and had a bit more of a bitter aftertaste like chickory gives. What comes from Amazon is fresh and oily, and has a smooth taste. This shows the importance of storing the beans properly after opening, to prevent drying out and degration. I suggest sealing in quart mason jars, and storing in a dark pantry or cabinet, and taking out only enough to be ground for the current pot. Do NOT freeze the beans - this damages them from drawing the moisture out of them.

First off let me say I love this coffee! It has a good taste, a great smell and is very smooth. When I purchased this I knew I wasn't getting anything close to what I tried in Jamaica. Let's be real here, they aren't claiming to be 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain that is why it is listed as a "Blend". When you buy the blend you are going to a majority of Jamaican Supreme or other South American beans. This is what keeps the cost low. If you are wondering why there are so many blends and people claiming Jamaican Blue Mountain, you must understand that it is a marketing ploy. The majority of the real, high quality Blue Mountain beans stay in Jamaica for tourism or gets sent out to Japan where coffee demands an extremely high price. Anyone with google can quickly learn that true JBM is grown exclusively in the Blue Mountain region at the altitude of 3,000 ft and 5,500 ft. Coffee grown at elevations between 1,500 and 3,000 ft is called Jamaica High Mountain, and coffee grown below 1,500 ft elevation is called Jamaica Supreme or Jamaica Low Mountain. Remember that real estate in the higher altitude is very limited & competitive, not many beans are grown there & the beans that are grown at that great altitude with that great soil are VERY expensive. With all this said, please understand that you will still get a great bag of beans here, I am a coffee snob & I enjoy it very much. But if you are expecting to get that "Amazing" cup of Jamaican coffee you got while visiting the Caribbean, I suggest you look somewhere else.

I have always been a fan of Columbian Coffee...I still am! This is now my favorite coffee. Yep, it beats out the Columbian grind which I still dearly love. The aroma is captivating and adds to the bold yet mild flavor. It lacks any harshness or bitterness which I truly do like but prefer this to other coffees. This particular brand is especially delicious. It is a bit lighter than my regular grind and has a lighter taste that is sweet and rich. It has a floral bouquet that is especially pleasant and is a bit fruity. As an armature coffee roaster, I can only wish that my humble roasts were this good and this consistent. You know how when you find something good that you like to share it with your friends and loved ones? That is exactly what I did with this coffee. Watch out Seattle, someone has your number and it is a winner!
