I have a really bad outbreak of seborrheic dermatitis that I’ve been trying to recover from for almost a year now. To make matters worse, my incredibly sensitive scalp also has an allergic reaction to any oil except tea tree oil. I have parts of my crown that are thinning and patchy because of how bad this recent flare up has been, and this shampoo is the only saving grace for me. I’ve only been usingnit every two to three days for the last week, and my scalp already looks better. I’ll post some before / after pictures after about a month to show improvement, but right now I can already tell the difference. My scalp isn’t smelling like a ‘sick’ scalp anymore (I have an extremely acute sense of smell), and it’s starting to get rid of the overgrowth of fungus. It’s even starting to stop itching when my hair dries. It used to always be itchy unless I had just washed it. They weren’t lying when they said pH balancing; I can literally feel it balancing the overgrowth of fungi on my skin, and it’s awesome. Not to mention it’s hydrating enough for my hair to use alone without shampoo (I’m black and have afro textured hair that is currently in locs), which is saying something since my hair is usually dry prone. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be ordering this shampoo until it goes off the market. 😂 10/10 would buy AND suggest to someone else. I’ll leave another review once my mom uses it. She has pretty intense dandruff, with flakes that can be anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4 of a centimeter. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Dude !!!! This shampoo!!! my hair looks freaking glorious!! my hair has never looked better. It's not dry anymore. I have a pretty good head of hair and it was falling out not like I was going bald I was just always seeing strands of hair falling out and it was always dry. My hair feels thicker softer smell smells good. This is worth every dollar.

This review might show up under my husband's name but it's important to know that this is Ned's wife writing the review. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last September and lost all of my hair by Thanksgiving of last year. I have since completed my chemotherapy and my doctors say I am cancer free!! Honestly, I never thought one of the most difficult things about having cancer would be losing my hair! I never considered myself overly vain, but I found this devastating! When my treatments concluded 4 months ago, I decided to do everything I could naturally to help my hair to grow back. After some research, I learned that Castor Oil helps hair to grow! I purchased both the Castor Oil Maple Holistic shampoo and conditioner and used them both daily. I'll never know if it was the shampoo and conditioner or the addition of taking biotin supplements or the combination of both that have helped my hair grow back so quickly! I noticed after 1 month that it was growing back and after about 3 months I could put away the wigs and scarves! I can finally look in the mirror and not cringe or wonder who that woman is looking back at me!! I have recently purchased a second set of this product because my hair is sooooo soft and feels so healthy. The shampoo and conditioner both smell really yummy and they have a silky feel to them! Recently, I have been struggling with what felt and looked like small white dots on my scalp. They're somewhat itchy and rather irritating. I'd read about other people having this issue, and it seems like it's sebum that has hardened, for whatever reason. I've never experienced this before now, and I wasn't sure what to do about it. I have streaks of bright colors in my hair, so I knew that I couldn't try a product like Head and Shoulders, which would likely strip my hair of the color. I'd tried a hot coconut oil treatment, and that didn't help very much. I decided to go with a sulfate-free shampoo, as well as one that might help to treat the itchiness. I found this one on Amazon and decided to give it a try. Nervous about my color (as this shampoo is said to be "safe for most colors,") but eager to make a change with my scalp, I decided to try it. Before experiencing this problem, I was able to go about 3 days without washing my hair. I used to be an every day washer but, since adding bright colors to my hair, knew that the more I washed it, the faster the color would fade. I used dry shampoo to get me through. Since the itchiness started, I wanted to wash my hair every day. I felt like the white dots were so irritating that I needed to scratch/pick at them, and then I was worried that they were visible in my hair. Since starting with this shampoo, I can now go 1-2 days without feeling like it's time to wash my hair. So, thankfully, this shampoo did not make my color fade any faster. I don't mind the smell, and it seems to do a pretty good job of cleaning my hair. Unfortunately, though, I haven't noticed a huge change in my scalp itchiness. It's slightly better, although not as good as I had hoped. I'll keep using this shampoo over the other one that I have, which is full of sulfates, but I don't know that I'd purchase it again.

I really wanted to get Olaplex’s new clarifying shampoo but at the time my wallet did not so I went on to Amazon and looked at tons of clarifying shampoos in a better price range than Olaplex. I settled on this one because honestly I liked the packaging and the fact that it said it had a cooling sensation (which it does). It is not as big of a bottle as it appears in the picture. I didn't look but assumed by the pic it was a bigger bottle but it's just a regular size bottle of shampoo. It did its job, removed build up and left my hair and scalp feeling refreshed. The cooling sensation felt good on my scalp and made me feel like Iike it was really getting my roots and scalp clean. My hair is in really good condition so I don't know if it was the shampoo or not but my hair felt as good as it does when I use Olaplex shampoo. I suspect this is because it did a good job removing all the hair buildup. I would buy it again and still use it when my hair feels like it needs a good cleansing. You really won’t go wrong I think with this buy. Good price and does what its says it does.

Love this shampoo! I am not a girly girl and don't really have a deep understanding of hair products. I go with what is affordable. But when I went to get my hair cut, the hairdresser pointed out that I had a lot of build up in my hair. I bought this Maple shampoo just based on the reviews here and its description. I could not be more pleased. Within a week all of the excess build up in my hair was gone. Even in the winter it doesn't get as frizzy and it feels cleaner and lighter. It does have a slight mint scent, so if you like mint you will love it but if you don't like mint you may not want this shampoo. But I would recommend another Maple product even if you are not interested in the clarifying shampoo.

So far I love this shampoo. I have used it two times I'm not sure if it has decreased my hair fall or not. It seemed to me that I lost less hair both times after my shower but I'm not 100% sure. I'm happy that it hasn't caused any damage to my scalp and hair!! I also feel like that after I use this shampoo my hair feels softer and straighter. It doesn't leave my hair to dry like other shampoos. I don't even put oil on my scalp and hair before and it still doesn't leave my hair dry!! I also feel good that the shampoo is made out of mostly natural ingredients. I also love the smell of it :)
