Lots and lots of words but not a lot of usefullness
Maybe this book was geared for people who already had a background or prior knowledge in teaching reading because it did not go over basic content, such as what a CVC word was. I had to look up on my own. It also did not teach or go over things that were in its own practice test at the end, which to me made no sense. For a nonfiction procedural book there was no index to help me look up something if I wanted to quickly check something. But the major thing was that it was A LOT OF WORDS. It’s funny that the book itself talked about different types of learners, but didn’t take them into account for the book itself. There are no visuals of what they were talking about. The practice test in the back had a visual question for the written portion and I had no clue what it was since the content in the book SHOWED NO VISUALS. I was really disappointed in the book.

Comprehensive Answers to Practice Test AND Online Bonus Material
As with all Mometrix guides, there is an excellent section for test taking tips and ways to manage anxiety. The target audience will appreciate not wasting space or time on unrelated content. It gets right to reviewing the concepts behind foundations of reading. For those that benefit from a more interactive approach, there are plenty of web page addresses where you can go for videos that review the same information. There is a practice test with a comprehensive answer guide. The only thing that would have made this guide better was if there were two practice guides!
