After searching for a product to treat my calcium deficiency, I came across Jarrow Formulas Ultra Bone Up. I have a malabsorption issue and became extremely calcium deficient after years of failing to take the proper supplements. After 2 months of taking this product, my blood calcium level has raised from 8.0 to 9.4. This is a significant increase for me, after getting little to no results from months of megadosing with calcium citrate. I won't know the full extent of this products benefits until my next DEXA scan next year. However, based on just my blood test results, I am hopeful that I will see in increase in my actual bone mass. Yes the pills are large, yes you need to take 6 of them day, but they work.

I was really wondering if this Ultra Bone Up was going to work. Well I finally have concrete numbers from my recent DEXA scan to confirm it's working. I have been taking this Ultra Bone Up for one year, since my last DEXA scan. I was at -2.90 a year ago. I've improved to -2.30 a week ago. Definitely going in the right direction, and that was with me, more times than not, only taking 4 of the 6 recommended daily dosage. I'm now motivated to make sure I take all 6 tablets per day and hope to continue to see more improvement with next year's DEXA scan. I also was not exercising like I should have been.This product has become more expensive, and I'm assuming it's due to supply chain constraints, which is unfortunate for those of us that need it. However, health is just too important and if I can improve my bones without pharmaceuticals that may have undesired side-effects, I'm pretty happy.

Didn't help osteoporosis much after taking it consistently for one year. "Insignificant change". When I quit taking this and added more hiking and individual supplements, I had significant improvement in my spine numbers 9% increase.

Just started taking these. I must say that I was concerned about the comments about the large size of these, however after receiving them I find that they are no larger than my multi-vitamin. If difficult to swallow, I just bite in half and take a half at a time. Of course, they smell and taste a little like beef - but this is to be expected if you read the ingredients. When I have my next dexa scan, I will report back if there is any changes in the bone density.
