Effective and a godsend during heatwaves.
Perfect for the size of our room, very efficient and effective. Cools quickly, has a remote control and is neat looking. A bit difficult to move on thick carpet, but fine on tiles/wood floors. Be aware the the window fitting is for sash windows, ours are casement, but just poke the vent tube through a gap in the open window and it works fine. Arrived bang on time for the first heatwave this year and I may order another one for upstairs next spring. Running costs seem quite reasonable so far - no great leap in electric consumption although we only use it on the very hot days ( above 26c)

Very good AC 👍🏻
Really good AC. Cooled the bedroom down from 30 degrees celsius to 21 degrees overnight. It took about 5 hours to reach 21 degrees but it drops about 3 degrees in the first 45 mins. It is a little loud but it's basically just white noise so not a problem for night time. Doesn't have a big water tank that needs emptying often like some ACs do. The hose could be a little longer and could be made of more flexible material as it's quite annoying to move about. The unit is portable but is a little on the heavy side. It does have wheels but it's pretty difficult to carry up the stairs so wouldnt be suitable for less able bodied buyers. All in all, I'm really pleased with it and it's helped me keep my newborn baby cool throughout the current heatwave.

Great AC unit!!!
A great AC unit. Gave out lovely cool air during the past few days of 33°. Fast, free postage and delivery . Would definitely buy this again. Easy to use, neat size, a little noisy but you get used to it.

Cannot cool a small room.
Blows out cold air at close range but completely failed to cool a small room. Very disappointing considering the cost. Room temperature increased while fan was on. Would not recommend.

Brilliant!!!!!
This was purchased to supplement our existing aircon unit, incase it broke down and to help my breathing (asthmatic and heat and humidity unhelpful), and to help one of our older dogs cope with the heat. Due to the weird layout of our elderly home it was put in the kitchen to try and encourage a cool airflow throughout. For it's size it is fantastic! Enable's my breathing to regulate within a couple of minutes and also enable's me to cook or wash up without struggling to breathe. I can't comment on it's drainage system as not tried it. We were lucky enough to be able to tweek a kitchen counter and put the hose through a window, without using the window fixture that's supplied. Can't fault it oh except if you get one the vanes do move for up and down and side direction - the up down is second vane down on the right with raised bits for thumb and finger adjustment - the side to side is top left with thumb and finger movement.

My experience.
Lovely machine. Slightly smaller than anything else I could find for the price. Fits on my window sill. 24 degrees c drops to about 18 in 3 hours but drops 2 degrees in the first hour no matter the temperature. Quite pokey will cool a big bedroom but use your noggen it’s 3000 btus. It’s also slightly quieter than your average machine. Does cost a lot to run. Approx 8p an hour on low mode and 14 p on higher speed mode. I hope this helps with making a purchase.

Seems to work ok, but is 65 dB, not 50 dB
The unit is compact and easy to move with decent sized swivelling castors. Easy to use, with basic instruction manual that seems to cover everything. Setting it at 18C & low speed, my 6 x 3½ m (21 m²) park home lounge is currently keept at 26.9 C in the full sun, which is better than the usual 32 C it reaches on the hottest days. I have casement windows that open outward; I have applied a small piece of velcro to hold the hose attachment against the window frame, and the butterfly nut enables the attachment to be extended to the full height of the window opening (see pic). A temporary cardboard triangle top & bottom fills the gaps; I'll do something less Heath Robinson in due course. Emptying the water is a challenge: the drain hole is at the very bottom of rear of the unit, and the small hose needs to slope downhill.... hmmm. I managed to lift the unit onto the smallest of my nesting tables (about 30 cm high). Pulling the plug from the drain hole means water immediately pours out! - so I just need to be ready with the hose (directed into a bowl on floor) and kitchen towel. If being used in a carpeted room it needs to be stood on a board to reduce vibration - I imagine this applies to most a/c units. For the low price of the unit, it works well. It seems well built although the top rear vent grille vibrated somewhat - solved by sticking some fluffy pads inside the vent seating (see pic). My one gripe (and reason for loss of 1 star: it does NOT run at 50 dB!! A bit annoyed about this. Whether in sleep mode or not, when set on the lower of the 2 fan speeds, my phone's 'Sound Meter' app measures an average of 63 dB when 1 m from the air outlet, or 54 dB when 4 m away. This goes up to 67 and 56 respectively on the higher fan speed. The energy rating sticker supplied with it (see pic) states 65 dB. It's a minor price for a cooler room, but the mis-selling is annoying. I just have to turn the TV up a bit. The blurb states "cost efficient 557W industrial cooling" although the power rating is 1500W (confusing) - but I can confirm that set to 17 C on low speed fan, it uses 0.6 kW per hour - so if, for example, you are paying 30 p/unit for your electricity, on low speed the Avalla S-80 will cost around 18 p/hr.

A very good room cooling unit
A really good air conditioning unit. Initially noisy, but once it had run for 24 hours, it settled and became much quieter. I would recommend
