I recently purchased another brand which only offered the traditional cardboard viewing disks. They were bent on the first day. Even with adult supervision, they were not durable enough for independent use by 4 year olds! These have strong, durable plastic disks. The children can get them in and out independently.

I was amazed! He has never even seen a view master before. Right out of the box he grabbed it put it up to his eyes and started flipping through the pictures. He even kind of reached out like he could touch the things on the pictures because they are 3D. The next thing he did is moved to different light sources and found the brightest spot to point it to to see the pictures! How the heck does a barely 2 year old know all of that? I guess because it was just very obvious what to do? He even changed the reels himself with out anyone showing him! That’s how easy it is, I guess! I don’t know if I’m more impressed with my 25 month old grandson or the view master! My daughter swears he has never even come in contact with a view master much less seen one! What a great item that doesn’t require instructions because it’s made obvious just seeing it! He loves it and likes moving around the house with it to use different light sources! All of my children had view masters and I did too as a child!

Unfortunately, this product did not function properly. The picture discs would not advance, the supposed advance did not advane the disc and the picture stayed the same when the tab was pressed down. I would not recommend this item.

The "see-through" car is a little smaller than I anticipated, however, its still a favorite and adorable for a birthday gift!...My grandson is all about "cars" and delighted at the clear car body with all the working gears and its colors, music it projects, and the motion.And the other gift:The 3D Viewer with its 6 viewing reels is also a fun gift, educational, brightly colored, as well as a keeper long term as he gets older...If you are looking for gifts for the 3yr old and at a loss on what to give your little one, give these 2 a look and you will be glad you did!

Works well enough with the reels supplied and any newer type one might purchase, however you should know this viewer will NOT work with vintage reels or any other type where the reel isn’t the opened center type.

This item was well made and worked perfectly. It's like the old school ones but better. I only wish they had more reels

Reels do not turn very well, so the pictures overlap. I am disappointed because my granddaughter really likes it but the pictures are not clear.

Real pricey and more if your want to purchase extra slides.
