So much safer than a regular ladder. I wish I had ordered this many years ago.Don’t hesitate to buying it, it could save you a broken arm, broken wrist or a broken hip. It is much safer than a traditional stepladder.

I had trouble deciding how to rate this. It (mostly) fits the need I had to reach my 10-foot ceilings to change lights, tend to smoke alarms, air filters, and touch up paint, but the accessories package (various hooks and a belt) was missing. If that happens to you, don't bother trying to get support from the manufacturer, either the American or German locations, as they will tell you that Amazon buys the ladders from them and, at that point, it becomes Amazon's problem. But I could find nothing on Amazon's site that allowed me to report a problem, only the ability to return a product.Pros: Exactly the height I needed. It is very light-weight. With a few exceptions (in my opinion), it is very well-engineered, seemingly better than the other choices I perused on Amazon. Accessories for different types of feet can be obtained (I purchased both, one type for outside use, and one for delicate floors). The steps are more comfortable (wider) than those of most step ladders, and the top one is wide enough to stand on comfortably. The top step also doubles as a structural member to strengthen the ladder, and it also provides a place to store some of the extra feet underneath it.Cons: The ladder is a bit on the flimsy side. I would have made it around 15% heftier and several inches wider at the bottom, for better stability, since when I ascend it I don't quite feel as safe as I would like. There's a trade-off with weight there, though. There is a retractable handle at the top to aid your stability when you're standing on the very top step. That handle, however, seems very flimsy, and it doesn't extend nearly high enough in my book. The ladder came with no instructions, but there wasn't all that much to figure out. I suspect the instructions were packaged with the missing accessories. It would be nice to have something to secure the ladder in the closed position for transport, but there is nothing, so the legs can accidently swing out. With some other ladders, there is a folding support that helps secure the ladder in the closed position, but with this ladder, the support consists of two thin steel cables. That works fine when the ladder is being used, but for when you need to fold it up to move it, not so much.I probably won't miss the accessories that much, but it irks me that there's no one to whom I can complain about it. I first wrote an email to the company, but I got no response. After that, I called them, and all they could tell me was that it was out of their hands--they refused to help me. To me, it wasn't worth the trouble of exchanging the ladder with Amazon, and I needed to use it right then, so I gave up.

Pricey $$$$ but well worth it. My safety is never in question when it comes to $$$$.

Bought the Hailo L100 TopLine in Feb 2023. Paid double the price of a Chinese ladder in the expectation of higher quality from Germany. It was not packaged well and had shipping damage. However, the main problem is getting support for products from outside one’s own country (USA in my case). The ladder was delivered damaged. See pictures of the top platform. I did not realize this until I unwrapped it. I would have returned it but it is a real pain to re-wrap. Not in a box. It was wrapped in cellophane with cardboard at corners.I contacted Hailo via Amazon support link. They are in Germany. They referred it to Hailo office in US. This is their reply -As you purchased this item from Amazon , you need to follow up with them so they can either a send a replacement worktray or return of the ladder.I seriously doubt that Amazon carries parts. I recently had the same problem getting support on a speaker made in China. So I will be even more careful about buying things online that are made outside the US. At least if it is made in one’s native country they may have parts available.
