Beautiful in home
My father had surgery, needed help with to rails going up the stairs for assistance. Handy man installed. It is perfect and durable to hold a 220lb man going up the stairs.

Nice handrail but watch fasteners
Product shipped on time but delivery was delayed by USPS. THEY claimed we requested the shipment be held for pickup. This did not happen I think they just did not want to delivery the box containing 2 sets of 10 foot steel handrails. The install went fairly well. I installed into both cement block and drywall. The first package I started with did not have an instruction sheet so I went online and found installation instructions. The on-line installation called to use an 8mm (5/16) drill bit for the wall fasteners. This worked well for the cement block but is way oversized for the drywall install. The hoke as per instructions found inside 2nd carton call for a 1/4” drill, that works okay for drywall but has screw issue. The supplied plastic screw inserts leave a lot to be desired. The starting hole is not open all the way thru and this caused the plastic inserts to push thru and become lost inside cement block and or wall. I ended up using some better working hollow wall fasteners that ended up using a 5/16” hole. I used TOGGLER 1/2” drywall fasteners p/n 50300. They worked great with the black screws supplied with railing set. I also needed to increase the standoff length by an addition 3” on the LH upper two positions. I replaced the 2” straight pipe with a 5” nipple in 1” galvanized steel pipe that I sanded and painted using Rust Oleum Universal Matte in Farmhouse Black. Maybe should have used the Flat instead of the Matte but looks okay. Overall nice handrail and my wife is happy!

Sturdy and strong but can be better.
The rails are very sturdy and provide decent support depending upon how they are mounted. There is one major issue that would make it easier to install and tighten. Currently, when installing, you'll need to start at one end and attach/install as you go. This sometimes makes it hard to correctly get to the hardware to secure the railing because the threading is all right hand. IF the railing and hardware had both right and left hand threads then the mounts could be installed and secured fully with the railing attached afterward. As it's currently manufactured turning any of the pipes will tighten on one end and loosen on the other. Having the mixed threads as suggested allows the parts to be installed AFTER the mounts are. I found it overly difficult to get it installed where all the parts were tight and installed correctly. EVEN if I was going to install from one end to the other (so I can mark the mount bolts) it would be a HUGE benefit to be able to fully tighten the rails. PRO TIP: Use green loctite to tighten up the connections to get rid of the rattle. Don't use anything higher than green. Green will wick into the threads and essentially "glue" them temporarily (until for whatever reason you want to take it down?? ).

A handrail worth keeping.
Now this is a great looking hand rail at a fabulous price. Packaging makes sense, the railing comes in pieces and is smartly boxed with hardware and instructions. Easy to assemble, easy to install and has a good clean industrial look. Seems like a good quality piece for the stairway it was intended to help.

It's solid!
I installed this for my disabled mother to use at our house, but the grand kids have also found this to be extremely helpful. Worked out perfectly for a 4 step up from the garage to the mud room. It installed in minutes, but make sure you are catching stud with at least 2 of the mount holes on each end. Use the anchors for the other 2 holes each. I used 2.5in black deck screws to secure. Also, loosely assemble the rail and posts so they can move a little when trying to achieve flush wall mount.

Good quality
We added several of these to our existing staircase to provide better stability when climbing stairs after knee surgery. They are more attractive than regular grab bars. The hardware provide is not really adequate. We substituted more robust drywall fasteners. Easy to install.
