Panasonic WhisperRecessed Ceiling Mount Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Dimmable LED Light, 80 CFM, FV-08VRE2

Like this replacement for our older CFL light and fan combo. The LED light is brighter and at 8 watts (equivalent to 65W incandescent in brightness) should be economical over the years. Had my electrician install 3 of these Panasonic combo units, two over large shower stall and one over the toilet closet in our primary bathroom. Installation took a bit of time mostly due to the attic access. Love the light and the sound of fan is much less than the 15 year old Broan units. Definitely happy with the recessed look, the quiet sound (1.0 sones each) and the air flow at 80 CFM works better than the old units.

It’s a great bathroom light fan that is easy to install, especially if you already have an existing hole that housed only a light (not a light and fan combo). It’s literally just a simple swap using screws that mount to the wooden joists. The overall functionality was what I expected. It’s quiet, powerful, and has a warm colored light. It works so well that it pulls open the glass door slightly to get some air in the enclosed shower. The light bulb it comes with is a special bulb to allow sufficient air flow. I added a photo here as well. The wiring can be done to where the light and fan have a separate switch, or come on using a single switch. I have no complaints about the white plastic housing/trim. I personally think it looks good. It comes standard with a 4” outlet. I used insulated duct work for mine that leads to the outside. Before you purchase, just make sure it fits where you plan on placing it. Also imagine where the air outlet will be facing because you supposed to avoid sharp bends when you route your exhaust. If I can do it, you can do it too!

one of the best bathroom fans on the market super quiet and great air movement and love the design of venting out around the bulb. no big plastic grate that gets full of dust.

Excellent unit. Little pricey. The light it comes with it is a not standard base. I bought a adaptor on Amazon to use standard bulbs.

I've bought about 40 of these over the past 5 years to install in remodels. I haven't had one complaint yet. The install is easy and the fan is so quiet that I've had clients doubt it was working.

I am a licensed Interior Designer. I use these on every bathroom remodel. Removes the old, ugly, loud bath exhaust and adds much needed light in the shower area. You will wish you bought one sooner. Pushes a lot of air, silently. LOVE THESE!

It does what I want, which was replace a single bathroom light with a combo light/vent-fan, and one that is quieter than the usual NuTone/Broan products. It does that, and mine at least included the bulb (an apparently common problem from reading other reviews), but had two problems. One is that the lamp trim ring is much smaller than is ideal, and I had to use a drywall patch kit to cover a gaping moon-shaped arc that the ring could have covered if it had been designed with retrofit installations in mind. Also, the inside of the light/fan area had an amazing amount of white-on-black writing--I mean, it was absolutely astonishing. Future archeologists would be happy to find such a fan-light as it would alone provide enough information to successfully decode an unknown language. After I was sure that the fan/light wasn't going to fail immediately, I bought a spray can of flat black paint and, after removing the trim ring and bulb and covering the bulb-socket with masking tape, I sprayed everything a nice flat black. Now the mystery writing is no longer visible, while the light is great and the fan sufficient yet reasonably quiet.

I replaced a standard 6" can lightvin my walk-in shower. It fit perfectly. I choose to add a adhesive seal between the aperture and attic side of the ceiling to ensure a good seal, but it probably wasn't necessary. I used a dimmer switch and can confirm that the light is disable. It's a very quiet fan and really moves air.
