duraflame Freestanding Electric Fireplace Stove Heater with 3D Flame Effect for 1,000 Sq. Ft, Bronze

I bought this product five years ago in November of 2019. I came back to leave a review now in October 2024 when I saw it was still on Amazon. (Note: It is now November 2025 and I still stand by my review) I have enjoyed this product so much. It heats nicely, however, I didn't really buy it for heat, but have used it to supplement on some really cold days over the years. I would not recommend this product as a MAIN heat source as this or any other stove of this class, in my opinion, is not built in such a way to be anything other than a decorative and an occasional, supplemental, and attended heat source. I have had a real cast iron stove (vermont castings with the fire glass window) a wee bit bigger than this, and I missed just seeing the flame after I moved. The flame is nicely realistic. This runs LEDs for realistic flames display. I put it away in the summer in a closet and cover it to keep the dust off and remove the battery from the remote and place the remote inside on the logs when stored. I pull it out in October, put a battery into the remote and turn it on ( the LED fire lights) and it still is like new. I run lights mostly all fall and winter, until spring warmth during the waking hours. My dog actually likes to lay in front of it. All that is to say, I have never regretted this purchase. It warms the “feel and look” of any room it is placed in. It has been a great product these five years. I am of the opinion you get what you pay for with these stoves. (Also, an important feature I wanted was the vent to be on the TOP not the bottom, which five years ago when I bought my stove this was only one of maybe 2 or 3 models that offered the top vent in any brand). This product has the top vent, and it is vented on the ends as well. When the heat runs, the stove body does not get hot, but the air blowing from the vent is , so if you have toddlers, you would want to ensure the front vent heat blowing out doesn't blow into their eyes….I have used a screen when necessary with visitors with small children. Be sure to plug into the wall socket direct, not through a power/surge protector strip. The stove I have does not have a grounded plug so I do occasionally touch the cord at the back to check the cord heat if I run the heater portion for a while, which could be a little and barely warm, but not hot. BEFORE I bought this Duraflame stove product, I had purchased a much cheaper one. The vent was on the bottom of this cheaper stove, and when I did run the heat, which was not often, it delaminated a soft-lay laminate floor in front of the vent which was on the bottom front. When I noticed it, I didn't have my remote handy and just unplugged it, the cord and plug was very hot, so I cut the cord off even at the back of the stove and disposed of the unit. No more cheap stoves for me as this was an alarming experience, as well as a developing hazard and no matter the brand, I will always monitor the cord and the product for safety due to my own personal experience. All in all, This Duraflame stove, again has been a very, very nice product, and I have not had any problems with my unit and I am happy to give it a great review. Edit 2025: I came back to say 6 years and still going, and Im starting a new season. I run my lights most days all winter and after 6 years, my stove and its lights still run and looks like new!!!

We love this fireplace! Definitely 5 stars. Here are the things we considered when shopping and have been more than satisfied with. 1) Does the fire look realistic? Yes. We were especially concerned about buying online because it might look cheap. It looks great and real and totally satisfied us. The 3D effect helps. We applaud the clever design of the added beveled glass in the front, and the side panels are also glass, which adds to the realism. It is not hot to touch except the heat blower segment. 2) We also wanted to be sure we could turn the heat off so we could use during months when we don't want the heat. Yes. 3) Great heat output. 4) Sturdy not cheap. 5) Super easy to set up. This may have been the final deciding factor for us old folks. 6) Good lighting output of fire with choice of flame intensity. 7) And not noisy. Not too many reviews mentioned this factor. If it would have been noisy I would have returned it. I don't like a noisy fan blowing. It's nice and quiet. 8) Finally, I'll comment on the negative reviews about the control panel being inside the door. No big issue. We set the temperature, the flame preference, and timer and then leave it alone. We use the remote to turn it on and off. This negative review almost turned us away, but I'm so glad we decided to buy it. It is not an issue for us and probably not an issue for most people. 9) No smell. 10) The size is just right for our space. We were afraid it might be too small since its only 2 foot x 2 foot. We were comparing to the mantle type, which would have been heavy, take an hour or so to set up, etc. This size surprisingly seems perfect and we could easily move it if we wanted. We bought the black. I depend on reviews so decided to give details that I considered that I assume you will be too.

I purchased this electric fireplace to use in my living room for not only an additional heat source but for decorative purposes too. It fits great in the space, the fan is very quiet, it’s very easy to assemble and operate, it looks wonderful, and makes the room look cozy. I have electric heat, and the base board is behind my sofa, having this fireplace allows me to turn the temperature down on the base board and use the fireplace to heat my living room, and add a cozy ambiance to my space. I’m considering purchasing a second fireplace for my bedroom. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Really nice, elegant- looking heater. I bought the bronze one and it fits nicely with my other furniture. Realistic-looking flames that can be turned down, and a brick background. Makes very little noise. The only thing I don't like is that the temp control is on the panel inside the door at the bottom of the unit. You have to bend your knees to see it. Recommend this product and it's worth the slightly higher price.

I have an 80s remodeled double wide. As you can imagine the forced air system is terrible. I looked at mini splits, but not only expensive but you need a heating guy to install them. So I checked out space heaters. I ended up with this in the main area of the house and Draco hanging wall heaters in the bedrooms, etc. I saved over 30% on my electric bill last year and are higher than that this year. I live in the mountains at 5000 feet, so it’s a good testament. This little fireplace not only looks really cute and homey puts off a ton of heat, stays pretty true to the thermostat. It stays on all winter and I haven’t had a problem one. It does get hot to the touch, so it is not good close to curtains or bedding or in real tight areas. I would use the Draco for that but is definitely worth the money and does work extremely well and looks good. Also, it’s light and easy to move if you change your mind where you want it as I did or just want to clean under it weekly.

This is a pretty nice electric fireplace/stove. The heat output is more than what I expected & the flames look very realistic. It is well constructed & arrived at my doorstep undamaged, thanks to the excessive packaging. Remote works well at over a 10ft distance. Highly recommend this stove if you what to add a bit a heat to a colder location in your home with a nice ambiance.

El mueble es bonito y la luz de la "fogata" se vé muy natural y bonita. El calor que emite es agradable pero no demasiado cálido, por lo que no creo que funcione en lugares extremadamente fríos. El calor se emite por un ventilador en la parte frontal superior del calentador. Pero no se calienta mucho la parte superior al tacto. Los botones de encendido, temperatura y tipo de flama están detrás de la puerta y no están iluminados, por lo que se necesita luz ambiental o de una lámpara para poder verlos. El control remoto solo enciende y apaga o cambia la flama, pero no se puede ver a qué se está cambiando porque los signos están detrás de la puerta. No hace mucho ruido, únicamente el sonido del ventilador. Para un lugar cerrado de tamaño pequeño (unos 40-50 mts 2) funciona muy bien. Lo considero un producto excelente, mucho mejor que otros similares que he tenido. Edición en 2018: Un año después sigue funcionando muy bien. Lo que no puedo creer, ¡es el precio actual! ¿Cómo pudo haber aumentado 4 veces en un año?

Really impressed and happy with this small electric fireplace. Good quality and the flame is the best I have seen compared to other products. Heats well and quiet compared to others. I am happy I spent the extra dollars for this one as it doesn’t look cheap compared to others I have seen for less.

Realistic flame, even my dogs watch it. The stove is very sturdy, and has glass sides that are really a great viewing feature. The infrared heat warms the room up very nicely, so the room stays warm longer, once the heating is turned off, and you just want flame for viewing. I find this type of heat is better than the regular electric I use to own. Beautiful beveled glass front door. Remote control is handy and temp setting is on the stove, but all can be turned on and off with remote. The flame has several settings for amount of flame you want to view. Great reviews on this stove, excellent delivery. Was worth the money to get through the long winter darkness!!
