Clorox Pool&Spa 12005CLX Alkalinity Increaser, 5 lb

Great price (if you have free Prime shipping). Great product. Works better than baking soda (won't raise that pH as much), and just as well as the much more expensive alternatives you find for "alkalinity up" at the big chain pool stores. We've found all Clorox brand pool supplies, especially this and the Shock, to be functionally perfect at a much cheaper price than big chain pool store alternatives. Not always available at WalMart, we were happy to find it here on Amazon at about the same cost with quick delivery. Life is better and easier with Amazon Prime.

Like pH up, this is a basic chemical, no fancy blends of various complicated compounds. So why spend more? These Clorox spa chemicals have been the most cost effective I’ve found. The hardness increaser, pH up and this alkalinity increaser have all been excellent values. They are nicely granulated, and flow without undue caking. For convenience I do refill my original plastic containers from out spa starter kit. But these Clorox products are nearly half the cost of the spa shop and the lowest cost I’ve found so far. Storing the remainder in the resealable bags has not been a problem with shelf life either. Our spa is small so we use small amounts, this stuff will ladt use for a few years.

Product is good but packaging was damaged on arrival. Thankfully not much spilled out

This product worked well to bring down the alkalinity in our in ground pool. We added it to the deep end with the pump running. The product dissolved very easily with no residue accumulation. Very good value compared to the pool store or Home Depot. Highly recommend.
