Old Road Tobacco Large 2 Pipe & Cigar Black Ceramic Ashtray with Cork Knocker

I ordered two of these for my smoking room and I’m glad I ordered two. Like many reviewers have mentioned, the packaging for these fragile ceramic ashtrays is worthless. One of the two ashtrays that I ordered came in a million pieces and the other one was just fine. This is strange considering that they were both packaged in the same manner and were shipped in the same box. Does that mean that the damaged ashtray was broken before it was even shipped?Amazon, of course, is wonderful about returns so the broken ashtray was no real skin off my nose except for the time it took to take it back to a UPS store.As for the ashtray that survived, I’ve been quite happy with it. The indents for the pipes do a decent job at holding pipes. Most of my pipes tend to sit in it sideways a little bit, but there’s enough of a lip that the pipes don’t fall over or spill out their contents. The cork in the middle of the ashtray does its job just fine. It tends to get a little grimy after a few uses but this is an ashtray we’re talking about . . .Aside from the 50/50 chance that your ashtray will arrive resembling the ashes it was meant to collect, I would certainly recommend this as an ashtray for any pipe smoker.

Arrived in a bubble mailer and is substantial in weight/heft. Has a crack down one side of the ashtray and there was a chip broken off of the bottom....out of sight. I have the feeling that after some use the crack will spread and possibly break that piece off. Since it is a ceramic ashtray I think I can Crazy Glue it back on. I do know that Amazon makes returns easy but I did not want to go through the inconvenience. I did see a similar ashtray from Mr Brog on Amazon which looks like it has better construction. If this one disintegrates I may buy the Mr Brog.

Item showed up quickly and in good condition. It works great, though the cork knocker has hardened kind of quickly sitting outside. Those are easy to replace though, so I'm not worried about it.

Though I was a little apprehenisive about purchasing this ashtray because a few reviews said that it came broken--- i was pretty pleased with it... it arrived in one piece and my husband loved his Father's day gift........ :)

Very nice, holds my briar and my meerschaum which are fairly big pipes.

Finally, a good looking ashtray that is specifically for tobacco pipes! Works well, lucky for me the spouse allows me to indulge inside the house.

Great pipe ashtray, especially at this price. Mine arrived in perfect condition. Only change I made was to add some felt pads to the bottom so it doesn't scratch the table.

My husband is new to pipe smoking. This ashtray is large enough, without being HUGE. It fits nicely on his desk without being cumbersome.
