These pens write SO smoothly with no skipping or smudging and the ink dries quickly which is perfect if you are left handed or take quick notes. The grip is comfortable which makes long writing sessions easy and the ink flows consistently without fading. I use them for journaling, signing documents and everyday lists and they have always been reliable. They are a great balance of quality and value and once you try them you will not want to go back to cheaper pens.

smooth writing

This is identical to the blue ink version that I also reviewed. To save you time looking it up, I am re-posting that review here. I am an 'old school' left handed writer. Back in the day, lefties were forced to tilt their papers as a right handed person would, resulting in having to write with that curled around "upside down" wrist (if you are right handed, try writing with your paper tilted in the opposite direction). The problem with writing that way is that your hand drags across what you just wrote, causing smearing and your little finger covered with ink. Since it is too late to learn differently, I am forced to find a pen that does not smear. Well, this is it! The Pentel EnerGel is an improved version of the Pilot G2. The Pentel's ink dries faster (I couldn't smear it even when I tried) and the clip seems to be more resistant to breakage. The grip is scored and semi-flexible, making it comfortable to hold for long periods. The tip/nib is well designed - it allows the ink to flow freely while not depositing the occasional blob on your paper. It truly is a fine point pen, and not a medium point posing as a fine point. Be sure to read the instructions; there is a protective cap on the nib that must be removed prior to use. It still writes with protective cap on, just not very well (please, don't ask how I know.) This is a GREAT pen, and if you are looking for fast drying ink, look no further. Comfortable to hold and smooth writing, this pen is where my search will stop.
