I've had this thing for years and it still works great. Cool little piece. Worth the money.

The media could not be loaded. If you want to put this up on a shelf, I recommend getting it to levitate on a countertop first so you get a feel for how to do that before putting it on a shelf because it is a little tricky if you have yourself in a weird position. This is BEAUTIFUL. Not perfect, you can still see some of the 3D printing lines here and there (more so on the bottom, which you arent seeing anyways), but you will get that with all of these (I looked forever before chosing this one). It is way prettier in person and those 3D print lines are barely noticeable when you're actually just watching it and they do show up more in photos. The timing feature is really awesome; you can set it to turn off after 15, 30 or 60 minutes. On the highest setting it truly is a night light & is not going to keep someone awake or be too bright. It's just so pretty! If you are putting it on a higher shelf, like we have, the bottom where the light is installed does darken to where you can tell a bit (my last photo shows this). However, it's still stunning. If you put it on a counter or stand though, we don't notice the darker area where the light is installed. We are extremely happy with our purchase and feel the price was fair. I'm always taking high quality images of the moon and was really worried this would not look much like it, it is STUNNING. Very well done. Feels pretty sturdy too. If you're on the ropes, I say get it and see how pretty it is in person.

Love it, but I had some difficulty finding a place to put this that's 8" away from metal & electronics. There's a warning to keep it 8" away from your screens, phones, tablets, remote controls, magnetic tapes, wallets, credit cards, etc, so it doesn't damage them. Also keep it away from metal paper clips, hair clips, etc or it will attract them. You definitely can't sit it on top of any ferrous metal like a refrigerator or a stereo receiver, or it will vibrate like crazy. Surface should also be level for it to rotate correctly (giving it a slight spin may help if it's not completely level). Moon height above base is 0.25" (less than the photos imply), and spins at about 5 RPM. Power consumption is about 5W (regardless if light is on or off), and the adapter says it's UL-approved. It's a bit tricky to position the moon the first time (it may take a minute or two to get it positioned right the first time), but after some practice I can put it on in just a few seconds. It's a bit startling when the moon falls to the base whenever power is lost, but a magnet prevents it from falling off completely. I'm glad I picked the 18-color version; by default [after a power-cycle] the colors fade from one to the next automatically but you can use the remote to set a fixed color (the IR remote is required for that). The touch-sensitive contact on the front can be used to turn the light on or off (moon keeps rotating), it resumes the color pattern selected by the remote when the light is turned back on using this contact.

The media could not be loaded. Very nice and enjoyable watching the Moon gently rotate with just a touch , it may take awhile to find that magic spot for the magnet levitation but patience pays off.A great item for your home or office desk. Will generate lots of comments and folks will look at it in amazement! Easy to set up and maintain. Love the soft light glow from the moon. "Keeps you in suspense..."Overall this thing is awesome and works so well. The only difficulty is aligning the magnet to make it levitate, but once you got it, you got it. It looks so amazing, so happy with it. It’ll make an excellent gift also. Buy one you’ll love it.

Bought this nightlight/Lamp for my 12 year old son over a year ago, and he LOVED it.... BUT... I've found that over time getting the globe centered on the base goes from challenging, to difficult, to darn near IMPOSSIBLE! We love the globe, but at the price point we paid, we expected it to work for longer than it does. Never dropped and never damaged, but certainly seems like it's not made to last (or with our unit at least it does not feel that way).

I Pulled the plastic piece of paper out of the remote that covers the battery but the remote does not seem to work. Is there something else it needs?

Was looking for a 25 year anniversary present for my husband. He had a large rotating globe for many years but it finally quit working. He really loves this moon. It is nice that it has the raised moon surface and he likes the numerous color choices. Since he had a rotating globe in the past he was used to positioning it over the magnet. He did not have any trouble getting the moon to float. A really great feature is that if the electricity is cut off the moon sticks to the base. With his old globe it would crash to the floor.I would recommend this product.
