make sure you look up instructions
This is exactly what I needed to put a second HD to my 2011 mac mini, just make sure you watch a youtube video or something on taking your mac mini apart! I myself missed a step, luckily it was only the IR Sensor, and I use it as a recording box so won't ever be using that sensor, so I cut it off. But if you want that, be very careful getting that off your logic board, the wires are very fragile. Anyway I have an Ifixit kit so i don't know if the wrenches they give you work, everything else I did use worked perfectly!
