Quaker Instant Oatmeal Original, 12 Packets per Box (Pack of 4)

I have always loved oatmeal. It is a comfort food if there ever was one. I have, at times, been unable to cook things requiring close attemtion. I bought the instant flavored but it was so sweet and sometimes the fruit stayed hard. I found this orginal oatmeal on Amazon. I read the descripton and saw it didn't have sugar in it so I bought it. I have it on my wish list and keep it on hand. One reviewer said it was watery. It can be but that is easy to fix. Just put the amount you want in a dish, boil the water - it doesn't take that long - and pour enough to make a dough, then keep adding until you get the thickness you want. I add sugar, cinammon and nutmeg and mix them in while my water boils and add just a trace of milk to top it off. To me that is a breakfast worth eating and brings happy memories back as well. Sometimes I put fresh fruit into it. It is easy to fix, easy to augment to your own taste and its good for you as long as you don't overdo the sugar. It's a win win all around.

Great oatmeal

It's instant oatmeal and not steel cut oats which have more textured and a richer taste. However, it is instant and doesn't require cooking over a stove. I mix one packet of original with the flavored low sugar variety or just some brown sugar and fruit and it makes a great breakfast. The packets are small for me so that is why I use two. Plus it dilutes the sugar content in the regular flavored oatmeal packs. At about $2.50 per box from Amazon, this is cheaper than the markets and other online stores.

Wow, this is great! Love the convenience of the small packs for travel, but ESPECIALLY because there's zero sugar in them! All the other individual packaged stuff is loaded with sugar. And not only that, but you dump the oatmeal into the microwave bowl and you can measure the water in the paper pack! How cool is that? Just be sure you have a decent size bowl (about 2 cups) so that it doesn't go "poof" all over the micro-wave. I zap it for one minute, stir and then another 30 seconds. But obviously all this depends on your microwave. For my preference, I add a little more water than what it says. But taste and texture... Perfect. Convenience too!

It is plain oatmeal. One pkt isn't much, have to use two pkts in bowl.

This is a quick and easy breakfast option which works well every time in my opinion. I would buy this again.
