I really expected a product that would work. I was going to use it for my sockets, in my mechanical toolbox. I tried to have the tape pick-up my nail clipper, but it would not stick, unless it sat on top. Disappointed, I immediately contacted Amazon to return this item as it not worth the $40+ CAD. At least the return will not cost me shipping cost. Maybe the tape is demagnified during shipping, or being rolled up, but the fact remains that it does not work as described. I would not recommend this product.

I am a teacher and was looking for magnetic to cut as per the cards I will use for my students. This product is an excellent helper for me.

Nice and thick magnetic tape. Adhesive is decently solid. Not super sticky but works well on drywall and fabric pieces which are the applications I’ve used it on so far. Magnet itself sticks well, about a medium hold. Not super strong, but with a size and tape like this, that’s not to be expected. Not to say that it’s weak. It still has enough magnetic power to snap through some curtain fabric that I’m using it for. Would buy again.

I used this to put heavy plastic window film on steel screen door (did not want to stick Velcro on it). Worked extremely well, but I used full length strips around entire piece, so that may be why the magnetic bond is so strong.

After reading all the negative reviews about the poor magnetic and adhesive properties of this tape, I hesitated to make this purchase. However, since it had the potential of providing such an elegant solution to my problem, I did so anyway and am very pleased that I did. I found the adhesive and magnetic properties of this tape to be better than expected. I needed to temporarily cover a ventilation return vent (22” x 22”) located in the ceiling. I needed something effective, easy to install and easy to remove. I cut a piece of poster board the right size and attached strips of this magnetic tape to its perimeter. It holds the cover to the ceiling very well. In fact, the magnet for this application is so strong that if the cover is not aligned quite right, I have to completely remove it and reattach it since moving it while in place is almost impossible. It should be pointed out that the adhesive backing will only attach to a surface that is conducive for that purpose. Furthermore, that surface must be clean and dry. By the same token, the magnet will only hold items that are slightly heavier than the tape itself (note this ambiguous description on the web site: “1.5 oz (~50 gram) can be held easily with a short strip”. Furthermore, the instructions claim the magnet will adhere to any metallic surface. That is misleading since it must be a FERROUS metallic material (certainly, most folks would know that).
