This is the second lpg conversion carburettor purchased for a project and the one now in service. First unit was a cheaper version from AliExpress that worked out of the box without fiddling the jetting but was poorly finished with cheap screws and plastic parts - application demanded reliable operation and as such purchased this unit. Build quality is superior as is the finishing. Only issue being the fuelling was so far out “out of the box” GX160 would not even fire. Be prepared to remove the pull starter, if not electric start, and using a drill to crank over engine if yours doesn’t start once installed, it’ll save you from blisters while setting jets. Once setup, works a treat! Starts cold or hot and engine runs smoothly at any desired rpm. Ramps up without lag and doesn’t hunt or surge. If fuelling was set close enough to at least start the engine would give 5 stars, but sadly not the case.

Seems like older links to this carb are for a slightly different style (they point this out in the product images above), but no worries it works just fine and is a direct replacement without the need for a manifold adapter plate you may see in some videos online. So it bolts up directly without any fussing around. You DO need to use the new choke lever included in the box as the old lever does not quite fit. For my generator I only needed to remove the air box and throttle linkage and swap out. ***BE AWARE*** you do not get any gaskets with this carb. Search for "GX160 gaskets" and you can find a set if you need them. I did not need new gaskets as mine were like new, but I elected to replace with new anyway. This is seriously one of the easiest jobs possible. After a few years without running (didn't even check the spark plug) I connected to a propane bottle with a low pressure (1psi) regulator and hose (found on Amazon). Opened the LP bottle and the shutoff valve on the carb, pushed the prime button a few times, pulled with choke *off* and it started second pull. Purrs like a kitten. Tested with hair dryers and it worked just fine. There is a 10 to 20% reduction in power output using propane. Just be aware. I already have 4 20lb LPG bottles so I'm good to go. Propane doesn't go bad unlike gasoline. As a bonus my wife claims it is slightly quieter on propane, Maybe very slightly. But the exhaust smells much better -like hardly any smell at all!

Did not receive the same carburetor as advertise in picture. I used it anyway and it works great using propane on my cabela’s Generator model 46578. Used 5ft char-broil propane hose cut off flared end and attached to barb on carburetor with pipe clamp attached the other end to barbecue regulator. Turned the barb on carburetor toward the front under air filter of generator after realizing it did not screw on carb it is was just pressed in. Was going to screw in a flared fitting. There is a valve to the bottom left of regulator it has on and off on it, is set to On not sure what it is for. Remove factory choke and carbon canister from generator. To start pump button on front of regulator twice, set choke to center first click after it starts up put back to chock off position then it will run perfect. Now I can let it set till I need it and it will start right up no more gummy carb, stale gas.

This carburetor fit my Harbor Freight Predator 4000 generator perfectly. It's a quick fit direct replacement part and installation was a snap. I first started the generator on gasoline and it started on the first pull with no adjustment needed. I then connected it to my LP gas bottle through a regulator I use for a fish fryer. I pushed the black primer in the center of the diaphragm for a couple or three seconds and it started on the first pull and ran extremely well. This is a great buy if you need dual fuel carburetor and the price is very reasonable. I would have given 5 stars but it doesn't come with a gasket and I had to make one before I could install it. Let me add that if your Predator has the wheel kit you'll need to turn the propane inlet slightly to the left for the hose to clear the wheel or you can space the wheel out a bit with washers to get clearance.

This item works very well when used with a good regulator. I tried using an old BBQ regulator (11 wc) but some safety feature would not allow it to flow correct so I purchased a GASPRO 0-10psi regulator ,cut the fitting off the end, installed it on the carb inlet , then ONLY turn on the regulator 1/2 from fully closed, once generator is running slowly adjust less / more till motor runs smooth. The video is my predator generator “3200/4000 with 212 cc motor item 69729” running on LPG while powering my toro leaf blower (12 amps). So the generator is running about 45% load but I am sure it will still do 100% load, I just did not have more items to power.
