Unfortunately, there is no way to shut the a/c port.

Q: Where get instruction Manual to assemble Bushnell tent for 12 person.

The instruction manual should be on the inside of the carry bag and provides information on how to set up your tent.

Q: with the rainfly on there seems to be a "gap"or "space" between the rainfly and the tent due to the poles. Does all your cold air escape from the ac?

I had no problem with losing AC. I used a 8000 BTU because it would be 100 or more during day. It could freeze you out overnight but I loved it. I was very pleased with the tent.
