staple in my kitchen
The dal cooks evenly and quickly, giving a smooth, creamy texture that works perfectly for dals, soups, and stews. The flavor is authentic and mild, allowing spices and seasonings to shine without being overpowering. I appreciate that the lentils are clean and uniform in size, which makes cooking easier and ensures consistent results every time. The packaging keeps the dal fresh for a long time and it is easy to store. A little goes a long way because it expands nicely when cooked, making it perfect for both small and large meals.

Good Product but More Expensive than Stores and Long Wait for Delivery
This 4 Pound Bag of Laxmi Moong Dal (Split Mung Beans) is serving my purposes. I like to use these in soups, but especially in a recipe that mimics the popular Just Egg egg substitute. The taste is good, and it cooks up quickly in the Instant Pot pressure cooker. The texture is more of a mashed consistency than solid. I store the split mung beans in glass jars for freshness; 4 pounds lasts a long time for me. Mung beans are an easy and delicious way to get enough protein in my meals. My only complaints are that it took three weeks to get this product, and the seller was not helpful. Additionally, it's more expensive than mung beans sold in stores, but I'm not close to a store that sells them. Had I known I would have to wait three weeks, I could have driven to one! I probably will do that in the future.
