Excellent OEM replacement. Why shell out a few hundred bucks to an HVAC company?! They're super easy to test and replace and I always keep a spare on hand.

Looks like good quality anyway. Have not used but ready to replace the OE cap on my Lennox if it fries. Watch a quality YT Video-'The DIY HVAC Guy' is a good channel-on how to install it and how to use a multimeter that measures capacitance in farads and maybe a cap discharge pen too. Cheap insurance compared to what a HVAC company will charge you for this simple but VERY expensive job. At least don't let them sell you an entire new system instead of this relatively cheap part.

So far so good. Easy to install. A/C company said $580.00 to replace the one in my A/C that was supposed to be bad and needed to be replaced. I looked on You tub and saw that it was a 20 min job max. I searched the part and found the one I needed on Amazon for about $45.00. Replaced it and A/C works fine now. Saved about $500.00 on this DYI install. Such a rip off by the A/C company. Pj

Decided to start regularly testing my HVAC capacitors after my ECM blower motor failed and took 1k away from my bank account (not sure if the built-in capacitor was the issue but it got me thinking). I purchased a Klein CL390 to check for capacitance on both my capacitors in my outside unit (herm and fan). I should note I only use this dual run Surephon for the compressor side while I use a separate capacitor for my fan. My fan is an aftermarket part and needs 5uf, not 10uf. Since I also need a 2.5 inch cylinder capacitor to fill the hole punched out in my control box, I just buy this 45+10 for the herm side and keep a 2nd 5uf capacitor for the fan. Back to the review of the Surephun. The part itself was a near replacement to the previous capacitor I bought at a local HVAC shop (one of the few that sells to customers) 2 yrs ago for $65 + gas and travel time. They were both Surephon 45+10, but the old one was 440VAC where this one is 370/440VAC. All else was the same. After 2 yrs of heavy use (I live in Texas and keep my AC at 67°f - 72°f even when its 100°f+ outside) the capacitance on the original part was 43.6mf (42.5 is the low side of the +/- 5%). For $17 on Amazon I decided to proactively go ahead and just replace it. If this $17 part lasts 2-3 years under heavy stress, high ambient temps, helps keeps my compressor operating efficiently, and keeps my family and pets cool year round I will call it a win. I recommend this part from Amazon! Good price and FAST delivery.

This is a perfect fit for my outdoor condensing unit. The hvac company we had come out was charging us $600+ to swap out one that was getting close to its recommended usage (outside its normal operating range). Instead of paying that crazy amount, I got this and within 10 minutes, I swapped it out myself. Problem solved for pennies compared to what they were quoting. Got another for our other unit in case that one needs it in the near future as well. Do yourself a favor and learn how to change these up yourself and treat yourself to a nice dinner after because, you'll still be saving money even factoring in your pat on the back reward.
