I have an Olde English Bulldogge who sinks like a rock. She does good to tread water at all. Because of this the water is not her friend which is a problem since she goes fishing with me on the boat and I take her to the beach. She has a deep chest and a narrow waist and I stuck to the size chart which said the size she needed could support up to a 70lb dog. That made me nervous because she is around 65-70 lbs. I took the chance and we hit the lake today. Like others said the straps have plenty of room to adjust and I was able to get a good snug fit without a problem. Then before getting in the water I used the lift straps to make sure all would hold. The jacket did great and feels very sturdy and well made letting me lift her with ease. Next we got in the water and to my amazement she started swimming all around the boat. It completely supports her and allows her to float with no effort on hr part. For the price this is an outstanding product that gives me piece of mind that she is safe on the water plus I can now let her cool off in deeper water and lift her back into the boat without hurting her or me. As for her wearing it. She doesnt seem to mind at all and almost seemed to enjoy it. She didnt chew or bite at any part of it and it did not rub or irritate her in any area. She had it on today from 6am to 330pm and showed no signs of being bothered by it. She also did not get hot in it and it actually keep her cool since it stayed nice and damp from being in the water. She has full movement and seemed nice and comfy laying around as I was fishing. Also it is a good color and if she was to fall in it is very high visibility to make a rescue easy. Dont hesitate. This product is well worth the money and more. Update(10-17-14)- Today I went fishing and while on my bass boat my trolling motor took a break. While working on getting it fixed my bulldog went to the back of the boat and got a drink from the lake. While Im sitting with bits and pieces of trolling motor on the front deck I heard a big splash. I look up to see my dog was gone. She is not a ballerina and slipped in to the lake with her clumsy self. Luckily she had on her vest and very calmly bobbed in the water for a second and then began to swim around. I let her take a couple laps around the boat while I got the trolling motor bits safe and then lifted her back on board by the vest straps. If I did not have this vest today I bet I would have had a big mess by needing to move quickly to save my rock of a dog. Also I thought that if she was to get to far from the boat and the fact my trolling motor was down I would have had to either use the main motor to snag her, which would not be very safe, or get wet myself to get her. I am very glad I bought this vest and today it certainly paid for itself. She has used it many times now on the lake and pool. It still looks new and is holding up extremely well. She has yet to protest wearing it and really seems to be confident around the water now.

It fits my little pug perfectly, much to his dismay. The carry handles are essential for us as it allows us to have full control over our dog and we could loop the leash around it if needed. It kept our dog afloat in the lake, the one issue we had was he kept raising his paws too high to doggy paddle and they would get stuck in his neck hole. This might be a skill issue in our case, as he was quite frantic in the water and definitely not calm. (He was removed from the water shortly after realizing he was not enjoying himself and had a much better time supervising on land. We will try again in a smaller body of water to give him swim lessons. Lol.) But that was why we bought this in the first place, we weren’t confident our 2-braincell having pug wouldn’t drown in shallow water, and we were right so this is a must have for us.

I'm so happy I took a chance in ordering this life jacket for our dog! We decided to take our fur baby on a boat ride for the 1st time and needed one quickly. Shipping was incredibly fast! My package was on the doorstep first thing the next morning after placing my order late the night before. Our 100lb almost 2 yr old bloodhound has a 34" girth (with more room needed to grow) and I was nervous it wouldn't fit him right because of all his skin folds, but I was wrong. It's perfect! I love the handles too. I'm not sure how well he floats with it because he didn't go into the water, but I'm sure it'll be really good. The life jacket is a sug fit around his entire body. Including around his neck so his head wouldn't go under the water. Our Jasper actually loves wearing it! He knows when this cute little floating device comes out, we're about to go out on the boat & have some fishing fun!

It’s so hard to pick these online when you can’t see a good review. Hopefully this is a good one! My dog is a lab golden poodle mix. He has a very wide rib cage and is 80 pounds. This vest is my favorite! It’s super lightweight, but covers him effectively. I love that you can adjust to fit your dog around the neck and around the waist. That makes this my favorite! It has extra security with the Velcro and all of the claps. The sty is cute and it’s a great product for the money. Super easy to put on. And I love that. The width doesn’t change as it goes down his body like some of them do. It’s overall consistent.

For context, I have a 95lb dog do I ordered the XL. We use the life jacket for swimming at the lake in the shallow areas. She keeps the life jacket on even when running through brush, jumping in mud, rolling in sand, and jumping in the lake for sticks. Overall I like he life jacket but it’s made fairly cheaply, so she will wear it out with the more rugged use. Fitting and Sizing: It fit her lengthwise very well. Her build is a little unusual so she was too narrow for the jacket, but I was able to cinch down the straps enough for it to remain tight. No qualms with the sizing, I measured and used the sizing chart before purchase and expected her to be narrow. Floatation: In terms of floating, this jacket would not save the life of my dog if she fell off a boat into water where she couldn’t touch because it can’t keep her afloat. I used this jacket and it sort of helped me float, and it helped my pup float, but it’s not buoyant enough to hold her body weight up out of the water by itself. She has to paddle for dear life. Keep or No? I decided to keep the jacket because the bright orange helps her be more visible, the straps are nice to maneuver her (if they were durable), and also for helping her practice swimming, and because I was mainly getting a life jacket to increase her swimming confidence. If I was using this to speed boat with my dog aboard, I’d return it and get a new one right away. Durability: Disappointed because the jacket ripped at the seam near the first handle. There is no metal on the product to attach a dog leash to, so I attached it to the handle. The force concentrated at the handle caused the tear at the seam. I am within my 30 day warranty but I don’t feel like ordering another product. The tear shouldn’t be a big issue for my dogs 1 or 2 times a week use.
