We are extremely grateful for this excellent product. It made the “impossible” possible. We are a military family in the middle of a permanent change of station. With this car top carrier, we packed up our household goods and sent them on a truck to be delivered at our new duty station. Then we loaded our Kia Sorento and traveled from Oklahoma to Utah to pick up our college daughter from her freshman year at school. Inside the Rhino BagMate alone, we fit 1 Checked-bag-sized suitcase, 1 carry-on-sized suitcase, 2 XL duffel bags, 3 regular-sized duffel bags, 1 large overnight bag, 6 winter coats and 2 backpacks. In the Kia itself we then were able to fit a 🐶Saint Bernard with his giant e-collar and huge food bin, 3 teenagers, 2 adults, 5 additional personal bags/backpacks, & 4 pillows. We went from Utah to Arizona to visit Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Then we drove to our new station in Florida. WITH all the stuff listed above including the dog. Military life. Crazy. But possible with the car top carrier! Other great features of the BagMate: Sturdy User-friendly Stays put Straps didn’t loosen over the 3,000 miles Protective mat worked great Velcro loops worked great to bind down extra strap length Sturdy zipper - no breakage for us Compatible with our 2017 Kia Sorento side rails (the side rails don’t have a pass-through slot). We just used the provided loops attached to the door and it worked like a charm. We did consider our surroundings at night depending on where we were. If we felt there was a higher-than-normal risk of thievery, we put the BagMate inside the vehicle overnight. It was a bit of a pain to do that extra step at night after a long day of travel, but we managed ok. Don’t hesitate to purchase! One thing we were hesitant about was detaching the rubber seal on the door to get the loop attached, but once we committed to it we didn’t have a problem. If we can figure out how to use it and drive that far without a problem, most people can! We’re not super experienced with gear like this but we figured it out. This BagMate made our trip possible!

This bag was fantastic! Roomier than I anticipated and held up extremely well as we drove from Denver, Colorado to Knoxville, TN, about 1,400 miles. We had no issues when we drove through weather and with the anti-slip mat and following the directions on attaching and tightening the straps, it didn’t move at all! It did accumulate some dead bugs but a quick hose off has it clean and ready for future road trips. Definitely would recommend!

Using it presently and just traveled 400 miles with the only issue being the straps coming apart at Velcro and slapping the car in the wind, annoying noise. Had to basically tie them together as the Velcro seems to loosen at high speeds, otherwise the carrier is well made and seems like it would stay watertight. I like that you can put a small lock on it. It took about 30 minutes to setup, load it and strap it down, takes a little bit of effort. I recommend it, especially for the price!

Took this on vacation because I knew we'd have more passengers and I'd need the cargo space. Fairly easy to set up and secure. Seems sturdy and while I didn't have to test its weather-tightness it should keep the rain out. Did not include any kind of lock for the zippers - not that this would stop anyone but it could deter a casual snatcher. Works better with hard-side luggage as softer items tend to get crushed by the straps when you cinch them down. This also leave a lot of excess strap that has to be secured which is kind of a pain. Not really a problem this type of product can solve though. Including grease for the zippers is a nice touch. If you're buying, here are some tips: * If you drive at night, the front of this thing will be covered in bug goo. Be sure and wipe it all off before storing. * Using a roof bag will impact your gas mileage. I was able to directly compare and it was about 4 MPG less with the bag in place. * Yes, it will make all kinds of noises. * Check it when you gas up to make sure everything is still tight, because depending upon how good you pack and what items you're packing, things may settle and loosen the straps a bit.

I purchased this product last Summer and we were very happy with it. The bag is durable and felt very secure on the roof of my 4Runner. It holds quite a bit and it helps ease my mind that our gear won't get wet if we encounter rain on long road trips. Well, after the summer season I packed it away and stored the bag in my garage. Unfortunately, the bag fell victim to a mouse and was damaged beyond repair. I reached out to the company and they were amazingly helpful. They responded quickly, understood the issue, and shipped a replacement to me at no charge. I was honestly shocked that they were so understanding. It's rare to find solid customer service these days. I highly recommend this product! We plan to keep it in a big cooler in our garage to prevent another mouse making a meal of it.

This was a great investment! Our family vacation from Northern California to Northern Washington started without this, and ended with it. Our van doesn’t have a roof rack, so this was the perfect solution! I was happily surprised to see the sliding passenger doors closed and locked securely without the auto-open safety feature engaging. It fit 3 carry-ons and 1 checked luggage with room to spare. Our luggage was completely dry despite driving through rain for ~7 1/2 hours through Washington to Oregon. For remainder of the ~ 6 1/2 hours trip back to California, the luggage was secure with only some bug splatter that was quickly & easily washed off. As a bonus, our teen was able to travel in the 3rd row much more comfortably. This is far and away the easiest 5 star rating I’ve ever given. I highly recommend.

Wir haben diese Box für unseren Familienurlaub (Anfahrt mit Auto) bestellt, da nicht alles in den Kofferraum passte. Waren etwas skeptisch, ob alles an Ort und Stelle bleiben würde. Unsere Skepsis war schnell dahin, die Box kann man gut festmachen und es verrutscht wirklich gar nichts. Wir sind immer zwischen 120 und 140 km/h gefahren und das war absolut kein Problem. Auch dem Regen hat sie stand gehalten, es wurde im Inneren nichts nass. Wir sind mehr als zufrieden und wollen diese Box nicht mehr für Urlaube mit dem Auto missen.

Great value works extremely well

Il prodotto più bello che io abbia mai comprato. Ho fatto un viaggio di più di 500 kilometri in autostrada anche a 130km/h e non ha fatto una piega stabile e ben sigillato. Con dentro 2 valige medie una grande un borsone grande e altri 3 zaini, super capiente. Da togliere ci vogliono due secondi e anche in vacanza la macchina rimane libera. Consiglio vivamente

Excelente producto! Muy recomendable

Ordered this cargo bag last minute for a family road trip. We live in a small apartment with limited storage so storing a cargo box would be an issue. The bagmate was low cost yet heavily durable, easy to setup and strap to our Subaru which already has roof rails. No issues on the road travelling at 110kms per hour. When not in use, its easy to fold up into its little carry bag and store in the boot of the car. Highly recommend.
