Ignore the naysayers.
On CB it out performs 20 foot verticals. Super narrow gain. Brought me up between 3 and 5 bars according to local contacts. Ignore negative reviews. Those are due to user error. Follow the instructions for backed length and height and this is the best antenna I have used on CB in 40 years. There are lots of technical reasons for that but I wrote a book of a review and accidentally deleted it. So this is my short review. Absolutely worth it. Great TX and RX. Not as good as a taller antenna for 10 meters DX, but you need a lot more power for a DX antenna. This extracts every available drop of juice from low power radios and does it very well.

Works well but
I used this antenna for a permanent mount on a scale house to communicate with equipment on the yard. Seems to work well but combined with a 25’ coax that is completely uncoiled, I can’t get the SWR’s below 1.9. I really wish it was adjustable

Just a tad better than a dummy load
Living in an HOA environment, I picked up this antenna to test out some radios I hadn't used in some time. Although the antenna is well made and the SWR is well within margins, the radiated signal from this antenna is horrible. At the full legal limit for the radio, others within a two mile radius of me could barely hear me, even with the antenna mounted on 20 feet of portable mast. I ended up replacing it with a Lil Will mag mount on a flat piece of metal across the top of a 6' ladder and am now heard by those same parties with s9 to s+20 reception. It does kind of make sense to me as this antenna has no counterpoise, and is the design of a 'rubber duck' one would expect on a walkie talkie. I will say that the receive is OK, but the negative gain offered by this antenna makes it far less than favorable for this application.

3 FOOT GIANT!!
Ok so everybody wants to sell JOE HAM and JOE CB a miracle gadget that gets him on the air like a boss. So I worried about this little guy. But he was cheap. And if it did not work, with Amazon Prime I could always send it back right? Now I am keeping this little guy. Read on: This is small little antenna. It feels very light yet solid. The base is definitely solid enough to mount on a pipe mast with the provided clamps. I have mine in the back yard on a 8 foot length of fence pipe. I sank the pipe 2 feet into the ground and poured some quick set concrete around the base. I did not run a ground wire. I ran 50 feel of RG8 coax the side of the house and into a hole that was left there from a prior CATV install. I don't have any radials or any other ground. I am working with a 10 meter mobile that pushes 60 watt PEAK. The SWR on 10 meters is a very comfortable 1.2 and I checked on 11 Meter and was 1.3. I don't ask for more considering this small antenna that has no ground plane. On 10 meters I have been working contacts very frequently. Most of who I can hear, I can talk to. The main weakness of this antenna is it's small size. It has trouble pulling out weak stations. However I must say, it is a very quiet antenna. Does not pick up near as much noise as your standard mobile. I give this antenna 5 stars because it does what should be expected of it...maybe more. Also, it is well made. I cannot speak for durability over time yet. Being this antenna is so small, it is a very unique product with unique uses. After my dipoles are set up, I will keep this antenna for portable use and also for stealth use. If you live in an apartment you can easily mount this on a balcony or even use a window mount. I have no reason to believe this antenna cannot be used indoors, but my personal practice is to avoid having antennas inside of a dwelling. Handheld radios and phones are the only exceptions I make. Only because it is a part of life these days. Then again routers, phones and hand held radios are not pumping out 50 plus watts of power either. Also, a lot of radio noise exists within the average home. Give the little guy a break, he will work hard for you!

Decent TX, poor RX.
Let me preface with my setup. I have a Uniden Bearcat 980SSB that I am using as a base and I'm running barefoot. I'm presently using a homemade field antenna with a 53" whip and 2-4 10' radials mounted to a camera tripod with an extra 4' mast and I can talk about 15-20 miles, verified. My normal antenna is about 12'-13' to the tip. I was excited about this NGP but admittedly I had read good and bad reports. Some claiming it was junk and others singing it's praises. I received the antenna and the first thing I had to do was repair it. The bottom rivet was missing so I pulled it apart as it slides apart easily without that bottom rivet, checked continuity, reinstalled, placed a small screw in the missing rivet hole and check continuity again. All seemed well. My first attempt was on a tripod with 8' of mast pushing the base of the Tram up in the air to about 12'. I will say it looks good up there with a simple profile and it looks like it could really do some work. With 50' of new coax laid out straight, I couldn't talk or receive and SWR was about 2.5+ across the bands. After reading the reviews I switched to a new roll of Workman 100' cable and tried again in the same configuration. SWR came down to below 2 but barely. I hit a trucker about 8 miles away (verified) but could barely hear him back, having to turn the squelch all the way down. He said I sounded good but no so much on my end. Even now, sitting here with the squelch turned all the way down, traffic is just barely breaking though and I'm 1/2 mile from a major Interstate. I'm going to play with this antenna some more but right now, as far as using it as a permanent mount, it's probably not going to happen since I can't tune it without a tuner. That would just mask the problem anyway. I had high hopes for this stealth mount antenna but for my needs, so far it's a fail. It's also very noisy.

Great little antenna! For the price you can’t beat it. Easy to install, but the U bolts were a bit small, but all in all good build quality. Good SWR on 11 meters and works to the mid 10 meters at 1.5 : 1 With an external antenna tuner it will be closer to a 1:1 match on 28-29.7 Mhz Make sure you use at least 50 feet of good coax to compensate for the ground plane

I think the antenna is over priced at amazon, other stores sell for $45. It does use the coax as a ground plane, need about 50 ft of it, or SWR will be high. SWR is good, 1.3 all band, no issue, seems to work ok, just over priced. Shop around as amazon increases and decreases prices often..

I use this for 10/11m TX and RX on everything from 40m up and it works fine. It easily handles my 100W output with a 1:1 Match at 10 Meters at 12m the antenna matcher reports high match but it was not rated for that, it is a CB antenna working perfectly on 10 meters... I hear that this antenna works best at 50+ feet up in the air, I only have it 15 feet up and for the price vs performance, I am pleased.
