Where Self-Esteem Comes From
I enjoyed the the format used by the author. He began with common questions every human being asks. He used everyday language to explain his answers, then backed up each with well-known authorities like Piaget as well as experiments and clear examples. He completed the book with truthful statements that, hopefully will lead any reader to action.Johanna Lopez, MS, LPC

Good info
This book is not highly polished, with several typos, repetitive sentences closely together and, at least in the Kindle version, weird layouts. However, the content is really good. It provides an understanding of innate low self esteem that stems from a genetic need rather than some flaw. Understanding that we are not flawed and are merely retaining outdated information about ourselves gives a surprising power to correct that. I'm big on saying that which I can understand, I can handle, so this book was right up my alley. I get it. So it illuminates a path to changing an outdated way of thinking.

Must read for even the self-confident people
Excellent Book. When I read the title, I felt that the book is probably for people with low self-confidence. However, the fact that people are highly self-confident is probably because they either achieved all they want and are satisfied with life or they do not attach their self-esteem with the outcomes of their goals. Most of the people fall into the first category.According to me, the best line in the book is "LOSING does not make you a loser, it just means that your will did not prevail for that opportunity"

I highly recommend it. Definitely a different perspective on low self esteem.
Fantastic book, I highly recommend it, even if you don't have self esteem issues. It is very enlightening and explains why people are the way they are. There are a quite a few typos and sometimes it seems to run on and repeat the same info around the same point, but the content of the book is great.

If you suffer from depression, you must read this book.
This book offers an amazing insight to the origins of feelings of worthlessness that will change you view about you depression. I have read many self-help books on the subject and none can touch this. However, it is important that you read the entire book though.

Attention All Women
I thought I had read as much self-help material as I would ever need. I was surprised by this book, it helped me look at some issues that somehow seemed current for me. I am a woman of size and have always preached the merits of learning to like oneself, easier said than practiced in this day. Most women today face challenges about self- esteem, this book might surprise you, it gave me many "aha moments". Nothing like an update!! As far as what men would think about this, I have no idea..
