I tried many harissa's before learning of this one, which I believe is the benchmark harissa against which all others should be judged. Made in Tunisia, it is thick with just enough oil to give it moisture but without overdoing it. There is plenty of heat generated by this very flavorful condiment that goes with just about everything, though I wouldn't recommend eating it alone unless you want to set fire to your mouth. You won't be disappointed!

The product looked good however upon opening the packaging the lid was not secured.

I have tried many brands, and this is head and shoulders the best. Most complex flavors, thick texture which can be mixed with mayo or cream to make a delicious sauce. It's very spicy but mellows over time.

This may be an OK product but it was open and leaking when it was delivered. It did smell more tomato-ish than the pepper-ish smell of other Harissa's I have purchased. I would not buy it again.
