A very good value
even though it’s small, it’s absolutely beautiful. When the cylinder is filled, you do not see the light reflections as you do in the video advertising, but that’s not the main purpose. It’s a birdfeeder. However, as the seed drops down and level, the light at night is beautiful and the solar charger works well.

Good Little Feeder
I bought the 8"x8" version, the one on the far right. As far as I am concerned, this is a good buy. The first one pictured on the left allows rain to easily get into the seeds, the one that I bought has a wider 'brim', so it helps alleviate problems in a light rain. The solar light is not the reason that I got this, I mean, it's O.K., but if and when it dies, I don't care at all, it's a nice little feeder, and I am happy light or no light. One thing to note if you are buying it for the light, the light illuminates the INSIDE, not the outside, so that means that if you have feed in there, it won't be lit as you might hope or imagine. When it's empty, it looks pretty cool at night, but it is pretty dim. It looks like a Japanese lantern. I have three solar lights not far from it that do illuminate, so it does pales in comparison. The main thing is that I am happy, and it seems to be well-made enough that I won't have any future worries about rusting, pieces falling off, etc. For the price, I'm pretty sure that you'd be happy with it, light or no light.

Nice and attractive feeder
Very nice feeder and birds seem to like it since I have to refill every day. Keeping the lid up while filling the feeder can be tricky. Solar light is nice accent.

They are pretty!
Looks great but I haven’t noticed the lighting on the ground in the evening. I also recommend the larger one. I don’t remember the size I got but it’s not as big as I thought it would be. I do think they are pretty.

Problematic in the rain
Beautiful during the day and so pleasing lit at night but it has some flaws. Within a couple days I had finches popping on and off frequently and chipmunks going after the dropped seeds. I was very happy with my purchase. The feeder is light in size but sturdy and the interior shield works well to gravity feed the seed. Easy to fill and the light started working after the first afternoon of charging. The big downside for me is that the upper rain shield is smaller than the lower seed tray. The seeds get wet and if there isn’t a significant turnover from feeding birds, the wet seeds germinate pretty quickly, halting the whole feeding process. While the lower tray has drain holes, they aren’t adequate to prevent water from accumulating. That said, if you have a lot of birds coming and have large seeds this may not be a problem. However if you use low waste feed of a size that is good for small birds, this could be problematic. I imagine cracked corn would be terrible. Drainage aside this feeder would need an upper roof much larger than the feed tray to mitigate the rain. If rain is infrequent this is a wonderful feeder.

Great product!
Update: I’ve had this hanging outside our dining room window for 9 months now. The light quit working, so I decided to see if there was something simple that could be done to fix it. 3 tiny screws, no problem. I undid the screws and water poured out. Battery was rusted and it looks like the circuit board shorted out. Apparently it isn’t as water proof as it says. Still a great bird feeder and it is frequently filled with several types of birds, but one of the reasons I spent the extra money was to have the lantern effect, but that is gone now. Can’t find a way to reach out to the company although they claim 1 year of support. My recommendation: Buy it, enjoy it, but don’t let it get too wet. So far I'm loving this. We bought this as one of the replacements for the cheepo plastic ones that the squirrels broke. (chewed the sides and then broke the bottom off so it wouldn't hold seed anymore) Haven't really paid much attention to the light/solar function yet, but like the fact that the squirrels or larger birds can't chew through it. My only severely minor dislike is the length of the chain. It hangs significantly lower than the other ones did. I ended up making the pole taller so this feeder wouldn't be touching the bushes. LOL, now it's too tall for me to reach and I need a ladder. Whatever, the birds love it and it is at a height that is great for pictures and too high for the squirrels to get to (I think).

Me gustó mucho.
