I'm looking for a cable that will preserve the stereo effect of my sound system, does this work? Know of anything that does?

it really depends on what you're running but this cable is normally used to carry a mono unbalanced xlr to trs signal. it is possible to wire an unbalanced stereo signal from an XLR to 1.8, but that's a very specific feature of a product so you should be sure of the product. sennheiser's receivers, like most pro equipment, carry mono signals so i can't imagine it being capable of carrying a stereo signal. this is probably not what you want for your sound system
