POWER PROBE Cat Digital Multimeter

my previous multimeter finally gave out, so it was time for a new one. This is an excellent multimeter for the seasoned mechanic or the weekend DIY mechanic as well. A full featured machine with a few extras too. Power Probe seems to make a good quality product and since I have a few of their other testers also. I figured that I couldn't go wrong with this one. I've only used it a few times since purchasing, but so far no disappointments.

Quite actually ONE OF THE BEST multimeters i have used any this isn't a fluke or Snap-on. I have to say i have used countless different meters and think i have finally found a meter that i like. I already own a power probe 3 so using this is the next best thing. I personally make a living with my tools so having a good ones makes all the difference. A technician beside me has a Mac Tools meter and spent $350 and asks me to borrow mine all the time. I had a previous meter that was just plain junk so finally decided to buy something good. I didn't want to buy a fluke or Snap-on just because of price but found this and was immediately drawn to it plus the name Power Probe sold it to Positives: - Compact in size, but has a lot of good features. - Comes with useful alligator clip tips for your probes - Backlit screen is great! (sometimes hard to see from extreme angles but doesn't bother me) - Magnetic holding strap lets you hang this on anything metal as this is the first i have seen that in any meter. - Leads are nice and long and of good quality and will not bend. - Comes with a temperature probe and also 2 extra fuses. Negatives: - Auto ranging function is a bit slow, if trying to select it takes a few seconds for it to display. Not very slow. - Has no storage pouch or case for it. I do keep it in the box but wish it had a case. - Battery seems hard to change but don't know if you consider that a con but had to change it probably from the battery sitting not used. Overall it's a very good multimeter. I have to say it's one of the best and professional use meters i have used. It was too expensive and was in my budget. I have to say if you don't already own this or are looking to purchase. I wouldn't hesitate because this is a really good meter.

Very happy with this product and have already recommended it to others. I do a lot of diagnostic work on cars and heavy mining equipment and this is as good as any multimeter I have owned. I have always liked the build quality of the power probe tools and this is in keeping with my others. Very good value for the price

Really good meter and the back light is great. If you buy the Power Probe lead set (LS01), the meter fits perfectly inside it.
