Black Mountain Products Resistance Band Set (Five Bands Included)

Well made with excellent English language instructions and exercise photos. Perfect for post surgery rehab and strengthening. Kudos BMP.

I started a little early with my New Year's resolutions and purchased the BMP 5-Band Set. I used to bench press 350 lbs and squat over 500 lbs in college but rotator cuff injuries took a lot of strength from my shoulders/chest and my knees are pretty shot. My 9-year old son also started agility training this year and he can do every exercise they do with the "lighter" bands. Resistance bands are a HUGE improvement over dumbells and free weights in cost, convenience and portability. You would spend hundreds of dollars on the equipment it takes to replicate the things you can do with these bands. And they are completely portable - unlike weights (even water dumbells). The 5 bands and the door mount fit into a bag for easy storage and could be tossed into luggage for a trip. I personally envision taking 2 bands and the door stop on business trips and it could go in my briefcase or luggage. As resistance bands go, I definitely like the fact that every band in this set has a set of handles. That saves a lot of changeover time between exercises. It even lets my son and I do the same exercises together. The bands and handles are very sturdy and well-made. I combine the two "strongest" bands for some of the exersizes and the door mount has no problem holding two of them in-place. This set of bands does not have foot/ankle straps but there are numerous exercises you can do to hit all the major muscle groups in your legs/hips. This set also does not come with a DVD. There is a simple list of 8-10 exercises that ship with the set. However, 20 minutes of searching on the Internet yielded dozens of resistance band exercises to do. I HIGHLY recommend this product. There are not many products that my son and I can use together but this one DEFINITELY is!

I bought these for a gym at my second home. I barely used them. However, I am visiting that home and worked out. When I used the bands, THREE of them snapped. All broke near the connection of one side. Here is a photo of the three broken bands and the brand imprinted on the handle.

Terrific set and great value. We ordered these to toss in our luggage for quick workouts on the go while we travel. They are pretty good quality and we have not had any issues with them. Our only complaint is that we wish the set started at a higher resistance and went up because even the black and red bands seems a bit too easy for us to utilize in our workouts and did not challenge us enough. Luckily though, the company is great and sent us a free orange band which was a step above this set as resistance goes. The communication with them was quick and easy. All bands fit nicely in the included bag. The handles have a comfortable grip to them, without any issues of the bands separating from the grips. When they first came, there were some divots in the foam but after a few days, it seemed to fluff up and no blemishes or indents were present any longer. Even our kids enjoy these and take over the lighter bands, so we make fitness a whole family affair. Because of the quality and durability, they've even withstood some tug of wars and mishandling by the kids. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality for the list price. Definitely would recommend.

We received our Black Mountain resistance band 5-piece set one month ago and we're very impressed with the quality. These resistance bands have been a great addition to our workout routine. We use them 3-5 times per week and feel they do exactly what they are supposed to do. We have not had any issues. We highly recommend getting these resistance bands, and here are a few reasons why: 1. They come well packaged, along with a booklet explaining about the bands and the resistance levels for each color. 2. The quality. As often as we use these bands, poor quality would have been a deal breaker. These bands hold up and the handles are quite comfortable to use while working out. 3. The price. The price was a big reason why we decided to look at these Black Mountain bands in the first place. 4. The product has a lot of positive reviews, which gave us confidence that the bands were the right choice for us. 5. There is a no breakage guarantee. This makes us feel safe that if something does happen, Black Mountain will stand behind the product (another person reviewed saying that his band broke and Black Mountain sent him a replacement right away, no questions asked). Give these bands a try, you will not be disappointed.

I read a lot of reviews on the very different exercise chords before I settled on this one and I’m quite glad I did. As an older person about to have a shoulder reconstruction I wanted to make sure I could find a set of cords that had the weights that I would use in. This one is perfect. The handholds are very comfortable and the tubing is brightly colored to designate the weight that you would be using. The Carry bag is a bonus. They’re exactly as advertise and I’m so glad I bought this.

Black Mountain (BM) Resistance Bands 5-pk are too short for many typical workouts for average people using them for fitness classes, programs and individual workouts. Photo compares length of BM red band (top, 42 inches) , to Gaiam green band (52 inches) and SPRI red band (56 inches). The SPRI product is commonly found at large gyms for group fitness classes. Users in our family are 5'5", 5'10", and 6'1" at or slightly above our ideal Body Mass Index, consider ourselves above average in overall fitness, and workout with bands 3 times weekly. * All of the Black Mountain bands are shorter than expected and make it difficult/ near impossible to do some of the exercises while standing due to the short length. They do appear to be sturdy and well made. We have not had safety concerns on any level. We are returning them for a longer product.

Got the items really quickly and are new. Good stuff.

I was afraid it would break because I choose one of the cheaper ones on Amazon but so far so good. No wear or tear. I can also feel a clear difference between resistance levels.

Super comfortable foam groups that rotate with the motion, nice variety of strength in the bands although if you are already big and strong strong and looking to do rowing type moves for example, you might find that the hardest level on this set is a bit on the weak side. I purchased these to strengthen my upper back muscles and address rotator cuff issues and the levels of strength work quite well - on my one weaker arm I have only just graduated from the weakest level to the second one. Overall seems really good quality the one thing that I was a little bit put off by was that in the instruction manual that comes with these bands, it says that you are only supposed to use them for up to a year and also that you are supposed to wear safety glasses every single time you work out with them. I have not done this and I’m not going to because, well, I don’t like putting on safety glasses every time I work out. Who does that? And I was not expecting to get a product that expires after year. I assume these things are in the instruction manual purely as a disclaimer for liability purposes and I’m going to continue to ignore them. Anyway, I purchased an exercise ball from Blackmountain products previously and I’m very happy with it and I’m also quite happy with these bands. I have been recommending Blackmountain products to friends and therapists.
