This is the most convenient and effective dehumidifier for cupboards, drawers and other closed spaces. There is a great deal of dampness and mustiness in my house and stuff used to get spoilt in the cupboards and drawers because of this. I tried various dehumidifirs but found them to be either too expensive ( as they were single time use) or inconvenient ( had to have electric sockets and switches installed in the cupboards and the dehumidifier would switch off once the electricity went out even though had them put on the inverter). I have already bought sixteen of these Origin portable dehumidifiers and one charging base and am planning to buy 10 more of the portable Origin dehumidifiers and one more charging base. All the musty smell and dampness has vanished from my cuboards and drawers wherever I have put these. At times the indicator colour changes from orange to green within just a week. But getting it ready for reuse is as simple as can be. Just put it on the charging base for an hour and it is all ready to be used again. This is the most simple solution to my woes as it does not occupy much space, no danger of water spillage and reuse it n- number of times. Thankyou Origin for a wonderful product.

This should have had a fan built in for the price, not a drying fan in the drying base. Yes the Charger is not a charger but a drying base. The unit is totally passive. You should rather purchase a kilogram of colour shifting silica gel crystals and place it in a nice fancy hanging bag. Restore the crystals once the colour shifts by placing in oven for 5mins. The price of this and the charger is equal to life time supply of diy solution

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Origin Natural Silica Gel-Based Reusable Dehumidifier, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. Staying in a humid city near the sea, and having a lot of camera gear is not at all an easy thing to manage. The excessive humidity is highly dangerous for your gadgets (99% humidity, in my case). Going for dry cabinets was also not a great option for me, due to budget issues. I have a lot of gadgets, and would need at least 2 small/ 1 big dry cabinets. The price for it goes above 13K - 14K easily. So, I decided to go with this rechargeable dehumidifier. The total cost went around 5K, as we need to buy the charging dock separately. Here's what I did: - Got a large air - tight transparent container (around 700/-), kept my cameras and lenses in it, along with this donut + humidity meter. - The humidity fell down from 99% to around 40% in a span of 11 - 12 hours, as it was the first time. The humidity should not go below 40%, as it becomes too dry. Since then, life has been easier. I regularly monitor the humidity, and if it is below 40%, I open the lid of the container, until it reaches 75% - 80%. Then, again I close the lid. After the first time, it takes hardly few hours to reduce the humidity. Overall, a great product. People use it in wardrobes, but I found my own use case for it. If it matches yours, go for it.

It works, but I prefer the disposable bags.

Have been using this product for 1.5 years. It is a great product. I was skeptical at first. But it works well. It is worth the money.
