Exceptional drum sticks
Very nice sticks and have a very nice tactile feel with great rebound. The black coating is a nice touch and aides in grip and comfort. The 5B adds a little more power when making contact with the heads. Highly recommend

ProMark has raised the bar for drumsticks, again.
These sticks are amazing. ProMark really has made a new type of drum stick. It looks exactly the same as almost every other drum stick. However the feeling is different, from the balance to the coating. They are long sticks as well. Sound quality is great for cross sticking on the snare with a nice feel and a wonderful click. The grip coating is amazing - giving just enough hold to keep sticks from becoming missiles while not being gummy, attracting dirt or interfering with playing double stroke or buzz rolls.

Does not slip when you practice. Looks great.
Great quality and sturdy. Ease of use and size is perfect. Don't have drums because I live in an apartment. But got these for practice until I'm ready for a practice drum pad (less noise) I love these. I always wanted to learn drums.

Go-To sticks
My son takes drum lessons with a mainstream music school. Part of their program is to build confidence and get the kids to perform live on a stage at local venues every few months. He still gets a bit nervous and mentions his hands sweat (I secretly worried about him accidentally flinging the sticks). I did some searching and saw mostly grip-tape products, and was concerned that wrapping the sticks with tape may add thickness and weight and throw his playing off a bit. Then I found these and since they had good reviews, I picked him up a pair to try. I wanted to make sure his teacher was ok with these or possibly give a reason why they weren't a good idea, but was pleased when he exclaimed "oh those are what I use when I perform!" That was a good sign. My son's been using these about 6 months for both practice and performing, with good results. To avoid having to adapt to different sticks, he decided to use them as his everyday sticks. They are just slightly tacky when you first hold them but as your hand sweats, they actually grip better. Other than that they play and feel like any standard stick (5A in his case). After a few months the ends of the sticks do show wear from rim hits (he's still learning) but the playing and sound is not affected. The photo is after 6 months and shows wear from hitting the rim, but the grip area is still perfect. The actual tips do not have the coating and are bare wood. He has another live show coming up so I threw a new pair in his Christmas stocking to use for performances that don't look so beat up. He'll continue using his original pair and have a newer pair for shows. A few of his fellow drummers have brightly colored sticks just to be different and flashy. He's not a glamor kid, so the cool but serious black color fits him more while also providing the non-slip functionality. He's happy with these, so I can see them continuing to be his go-to sticks for some time. NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are too brief and don't support their opinions with examples. Writing useful reviews helps pay it forward.

As advertised. Well made. Try one pair first to see if they work for you.
They do have a “stickiness” to them. If you’re the kind of drummer who likes to ride the stick from butt to center for different articulation then you might have a problem doing that with these. Especially in traditional grip. Also if cross sticking they have a slightly muted sound. Not as crisp or staccato as an uncoated stick does. But if you tend to drop sticks a lot then these will definitely help you hang on. The weight is typical 7A . The balance is good. They’re well made for sure. Heavy metal drummers could probably break them fairly quickly. But again, if you have a problem with dropping sticks these might help. I used to use a rosin bag like the baseball players use. Worked great but could be messy. I don’t drop sticks much anymore because of my technique but I wanted to try these out anyway.

Feels good
Good feel, not too grippy but still a nice amount of grip. My son really likes them

Stick may end up looking ragged from midway to tip, but they're still so reliable!
I have been buying these for years for my son, from age 10-16. He plays very hard and often. Let's say while playing an important gig (with Sean Yseult from White Zombie), he was using another pair of sticks that broke. Thankfully he had a masterful handoff of a Promark and he's never gone back since! Seriously though, these sticks are incredible. They don't slip, and even though the black wears off midway to the tip (just proof you're actually using them), the grips stay true and don't peel or wear off. The wood will wear, but he's played his sticks to whittled nubs. They DO break after time, but always when old and worn, not prematurely. Something we can say about all the Promark sticks he uses. These are his favorite though. If you watch the video you can see the black at the grip and the weathered mid to end. But you can also see how they hold up to tough playing for 5+ minutes, even in this state. Other sticks would have given up for sure. Highly recommend these sticks. I buy them both through Amazon and at music stores when I see them.

Great stick. I much prefer this to the "forward" version. They are wearing well
