Can it work on the right side

The internal lever appears to be reversible, but the handle does not appear to be reversible it is spring loaded, so if you can live with the handle looking like it is backward and pointing toward the center of the tank it might be okay. Also be aware it fits a square hole in the tank.

Has anyone installed this on a Champion 4 toilet?

No. I installed mine on a Kohler Classic, but it is not a perfect fit on that one, as you can see the white connecting parts behind if you look. So maybe it will be better on yours. Beautiful flush handle. I am keeping it on anyways.
