I’m about to purchase this item for the third year in a row. I use the beans to make vanilla extract for gifts and the extract made with these beans always wow the recipients. The smell is delicate and fragrant. The extract is delicious (I use bourbon) and the amount of beans allows me to make a large amount. Extract is easy to make and is a gift people live to receive. I found the beans to be a good size; moist and plump and easy to work with. Great value for my purposes.

This is my first time buying vanilla beans. They seemed to be great value for the money. I am making vanilla extract so when the time comes and I can use it I will update my review.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It’s organic! I’ve been making my own vanilla extract for 5 years using these vanilla beans. It has taken my baking to a whole new level! That is if you let them cure for 12 months or more!

150 bean pods makes one gallon. I bought a 50 pack as well. You need 16 Oz of pods per gallon of vodka. These came in at 15 ounces for 150 pods. I purchased from this company three years ago and the pods are smaller in diameter. They are so thin, it is almost impossible to split them open and scrape out the seeds. So without and waste or fuss, I took an exacto knife and split each one down the middle and separated the two pieces exposing the beans. I will shake it once a week for a year and the pods will dissolve and the beans will spill out on their own.

Pods puffed up nicely when roasted. Easy to scrape seeds from pod. Great flavor.

These beans seem to be fresh with a good vanilla fragrance. They appear to be the size shown online and their quality will definitely make some good extract. I just bottled about a week ago and I'm already getting some lovely, dark color.
